The Rules Of Self-Gloss Threads

Tue Sep 09, 2003 10:14 am

As far as I know these are the "unofficial" rules for Self-Gloss Posts:

A. Any thread title that sounds useless to other Airliners.net members (such as "I've reached 3000 Posts") will be classified as a Self-Gloss Post.

B. If you are convicted of Self-Glossing, you may receive one, two or all of the following penalties:

A Prize:

A Shaft:

And/Or a Knock-Out punch:

I thought this was just common knowledge?

Well, this post is more or less of a warning for "new" members.

Ah, I see. Well in that case...

Hello new members. I am here today to discuss with you something very important. Let me just say now, do not let yourself be pressured. You are your own person and you can make your own decisions. Please, do not self-gloss. Thank you.

The KO is usually reserved for occasions when one member gets a solid blast against another member. Not really used for Self-Glossing.

There are also a number of pretenders popping up, like 707cmf's crappy tired cat in a stupid engine "you woke me up for that" type picture, but make no mistake. These are pretenders, and not the original!  Big grin

LMAO, I don't know why I found that so funny, but I did.

If you haven't seen it, count your lucky stars.

Remember, there ARE NO imitations, including that silly kitty picture which a certain nameless user is trying, in a futile attempt to be inlcuded as one of the 'big three'.

We have "The Prize" which is reserved for self gloss posts. We have "The Shaft" which is also used for self glossing, but may also be used for utterly lame or pointless threads.

And finally, there is the "Knockout", which, as KROC pointed out, is only used when one member solidly slams another.

ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS

And Matt D (an original) sends the Pretenders crashing to the proverbial mat!

Don't forget, should someone have the gonads to start another pointless thread, they will force someone (probably me) to subject everyone to the hairy mole and tongue.
