Any Plans For The Weekend 9-19?

Thu Sep 18, 2003 6:21 am

What's everyone up to this weekend? Any big plans.

As for me, I'm headed down to "The Shoe" in Columbus to take in the Ohio State-Bowling Green football game. I've been in Ohio Stadium once, but that was for a H.S. Title game. 20,000 for that, compared to what I expect this weekend with 100,000 fans won't be the same. And, it's the only time this year I'll be rooting against the Defending National Champs (Ahem, KROC), since I'm a graduate of Bowling Green. And I'll take the Falcons and the 14 1/2 points.  Big grin

This weekend will be about the only time I cheer for Bowling Green. And sorry Alpha 1, they are not playing the 'National Champs', they are playing the line judge designated champs.  Big grin

Friday: Pre-initiation for my frat (see: drinking)

Saturday: Maybe work in a little bit of DFW spotting/photography in the morning (if I'm not too hungover). Frat flag-football game at 4:30, party at night, get shot down multiple times.

Sunday: Recovery, NFL football, dinner with my parents.

 Laugh out loud Touche!!

Actually, it's just that frats were a very small fraction of the student population where I went to college, which was fine by me. Had I gone somewhere like Miami University in Oxford, OH, you can't survive there without being Greek. Just the way it was.

Actually Alpha, thats the same way it is here. However, the school is so God damn boring that the only way you actually get to have fun and party is by joining a frat (or by bringing beer and/or women to a frat party). You cant go free agent and expect to have a good time... That being said, its an absolute blast, I'm pissed I didn't join one last year, and most importantly our national chapter has banned hazing.

I know what I'll be doing Friday night. It won't be watching TV either. Certain things are certain at my age and I love it.

I am flying from Houston to Paris on Sunday to see Sting play on Monday night at the Olympia theatre. I am taking two friends on buddy passes, so I'll feel like a chaperone for the weekend. Seems my SA3P 87 might stuff me in coach on the way back on Tuesday, that would suck, but we can hope there are no shows... down with Pos space riders...

Wait a minute, Navymidn. You go to Purdue, obviously, but you're going to root FOR a team in your conference, because BG beat yoru school?

If I were in the Big Ten, I'd NEVER root for a rival school within the conference, save perhaps in a Bowl game!  Laugh out loud

Yeah Jcs is a frat boy, I may go to one of their parties when I am home and see how it is.

Also JCS, during your football game, are you handing out towels again, or will you be serving water?

As I always say, buckle up for when OSU plays some real teams.. Bowling Green?! Granted their rugby team beat the crap out of us (they used to be number 2 or 3 in the nation)their football team is another story.

Saturday- Watch the Ohio State game, NASCAR Busch Series race, eat, sleep, breathe, more PS2.
Sunday- 16th Birthday! MSN, TV (new World Air Routes videos as presents), PS2 (getting the new Indy Car game, maybe some others) NFL Games, NASCAR Winston Cup race, dreading the start of a new week.

That's about when I'm free as well. I'm after the long-coveted 28R departure shot (which I did get last weekend but a.net rejected) I'm thinkin' - park over by Signature's little lot along the side of the road, capture a couple heavies leaving for Europe between 5 and 6, then maybe we can hit a watering hole or two and get acquainted. Delta's not on AIM right now and I'll be home from school too late to catch him tonight.
