Actor/Dancer Donald O'Connor Passes On

Sun Sep 28, 2003 2:14 pm

Yet another entertainment figure has died. Donald O'Connor was one of the key stars in Singing in the Rain. He was also the human half of a duo in the Francis the Talking Mule movie series. I also remember him recently in a Frasier episode as a crazy millionaire. He was 78 yrs old. Damn...too many good ones leaving us.

Yeah, he was a great entertainer. There was a clip of him on a recent TV appearance where he was sitting beside some woman who looked vaguely familiar, but was probably 150 years of age. Debbie Reynolds?? (Just kidding, this one was even older, but at least still had something approaching most of her original parts). Anyway, the guy could sure dance!
Cheers

...right on the heels of Robert Palmer. Wonder who will be next? They always seem to "go in threes", no? RIP...Jack

No? Elia Kazan? I love "A Streetcar Named Desire". Elia Kazan was a brilliant director and writer. He was a true product of the New York 1940's and 1950's entertainment industry.

o'connor and kelly made one of the best duos ive seen; their dancing, singing, and acting is enviable by most, if not all, actors and actresses today.

he truly was a 'triple threat'.
What the FUTT?

Indeed. We will never see their likes again. Kelly and O'Connor had incredible talent and energy on the screen.
