"The only current car close to it in terms of handling and performance is the Ferrari 360 Modena"
You're kidding, right? The 360 Modena is outperformed on track
by many other cars you can currently buy, just to name a few:
CSL, Porsche 911 GT2, Porsche 911 GT3, Porsche 911 Turbo, Pagani Zonda, Lamborghini Murcielago.
The mag Sport Auto tests high-performance cars on the legendary Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, internationally acceptet as the most demanding, dangerous and complete race track, and on the Hockenheimring, and all these cars mentioned above can do it in a bit less than 8 minutes, while the 360 Modena needs 8:09 min to drive through the green hell.
The fact that the car does 0-100 (I suspect the 60 were mph?) in just 3.2 seconds actually indicates that it's not such a great-handling car, simply because it lacks downforce and can't take turns as fast as cars with higher downforce.
What's a Porsche 998 btw? (Serious question)
