If You Can't Get Out Of School For Concorde...

Wed Oct 22, 2003 7:09 am

for those of us who are stuck in global and chemistry, while hundreds of people pay tribute to Concorde, maybe you can use this to push your parent's buttons...

['scuse the compression]

my global history textbook, as pictured [on top of strategically placed items], holds the key...

the timeline for the most recent age of history includes the one and only...

its not only an aviation related thing, but its history. here's the proof!

I never got the chance to see Concorde, and I'm not allowed to take Friday off of school either. Since I won't see it flying, hopefully I'll get to see it in a museum.

Big deal. Some of you sound as if the last Concorde flight is the end of the world. Get a hobby, stay in school.

get a hobby? stay in school? this IS the friggin hobby. if you were in the area, i'd bet anything that you would skip work or school for the last concorde flight.

PJS800--pity. one of the BA concordes are due in for the intrepid. pretty darn convenient...

Yeah, if I lived close to New York I might consider skipping classes to go see it, but I wouldnt be upset if I missed it either. The only reason I would go is to get some pictures of it...I've seen it a lot, but I never got a picture. That being said, JFK isnt great for photography and I would much rather get it at LHR. Like I said, some of you act as if its the end of the world.

I saw the Concorde in LHR it was real cool. I'd skip class to see it. My dad took me out of school to get a tour of the 777 when AA first got it. (I was in highschool)

Was at Belfast yesterday to see Concorde on her last visit. A few of the local schools had organized trips to the airport to allow the kids to see Concord fly for the last time. A lot of them seemed quite bored with the whole thing, though........

Not the end of the world, but the end of an era when projects like Concorde were done for national pride and the advancement of science....

...and not things that are just done for corporate greed and shareholder/board level personal enrichment as we have today.

I'm taking the day off work to see it.
