Live Quran Translated Into English...

Fri Oct 31, 2003 10:51 pm

Muslims are fasting Ramadan these days and as usual we attend the night prayer so much required of course.

IQRAA TV transmits these prayers live from Mecca,by 17:00/17:30 GMT, with the verses translated into English.Do not hesitate to zap to this channel if you are interested, and it is of great interest indeed.

IQRAA TV transmits on digital via HOTBIRD.

Is it true that the Quran has to be read (or listened to) in Arabic in order to be "official?"

PROSA, my understanding is any translation from Arabic cannot be exact and so is not considered 'official'.

I wish a blessed Ramadan (is that appropriate?) to our Muslim a.net members.

Actually, Arabic uses different grammatical construction than English, also context can be hard to translate, not to mention the cultural differences.

Thanks a lot ScarletHarlot.

There are a lot of sites with explanations and interpretation of the Qu'ran. I'll post links up later.

The translation they are using is quiet "serious" and expressive.Try it PLIZ.

PROSA and ScarletHarlot are you muslims ?

You are welcome anyway ? It does not differ much for me whether you were Muslims or not.
