I'm 16 years old, and I have had my drivers license since May (Student Pilots License since February). And, according to my friends and family, I am one of the best drivers they know. I always wondered why they thought this, until I drove with a few of my friends in their cars. I have one friend whos parents bought him a BMW SUV
, brand new, custom everything, the works. I rode with him a couple blocks down to the supermarket one night, and he drove 85 MPH down a 40 MPH street. Thats more than twice the limit. At that time, I swore never to drive with him again.
No wonder, when I drove my date to homecoming, she said "Do you always drive this safely?" Apperantly every other guy in the city drives 90 MPH down residential streets.
Its kids like them that hike my insurance up.
