Your Favorite Prescription Drug?

Mon Nov 17, 2003 1:47 pm

What's your favorite? You know, that drug that you just wish you had an extra prescription to. For me its:

Ambien (A must have for people with chronic sleep problems/insomnia)
Ativan (Relax!)
Klonipin (Relax!)
Seroquel (Anti-psychotic)
Amitriptyline

Are you kidding me? Unlike some people here, I'm not addicted to painkillers, anti-depressants, and anti-psychotics. Since when is taking any prescription drug in extra doses good? What an awful thread...pathetic. Have a good time doing damage to your body.

BTW, Startvalve, Lephron makes those posts because HE IS NOT TAKING his pills.

JCS settle down man. I'm not saying I am addicted to pills. I'm asking what drugs are your favorite to take. The ones that make you feel the best. The ones that do the most good for you.

Also, I wasn't suggesting that anyone take an extra dose. I feel great after taking my prescribed dosage.

BTW JCS, anti-depressants, anti-psychotics are all non-addictive medications.

Allegra-D

I take one every day for my allergies and rarely have any symptoms.

I don't understand all of this with the anti-depressants.I'm a firm believer that a man can control his emotion .

I don't take any medicine unless I'm sick. I can undertand sleep medicine or allergy medicine, but anti-depressants make it worse (as I have seen it)

When I was younger and was sick and the doctor prescribed an antibiotic, it was usually Cephlexin/Keflex, which is that pink liquid stuff...its the one medicine that actually tastes good...kinda like bubble gum...

Nexium. After suffering with GERD for 15 years, this one gave me back my life.

I just started on amitriptaline (btw-not bothered if spelling is incorrect). Only been on it a week so not sure how will be. in UK it is a 'gold standard' antidepressant-it more expensive than normal SSRIs such as sertraline

Vafi88,
A lot of people may not be able to control their emotions, and if, as I believe and as medicine is telling us, emotions may be all about brain chemistry, why not take medicines. if you're brain isn't making seritonin or norepinephrine, you're not going to be happy, and you can't will yourself to make more. It's not a sign of wekenss at all.

I'm sorry but that comment is as silly as if I said "I don't understand all of this with insulin. I'm a firm believer that a man can control his pancreas."

Nothin like anti-depressants for some people.. you are unable to cope so lets just drug you up.. whatever is giving you the problems is still there but you feel much better as long as you take your pills.. same with ritalin.. the day where some kids were just not so smart has passed i guess and now everyone needs meds.
