The Rest Of College Football For The Week

Mon Nov 24, 2003 12:08 am

Ok, we've talked UM-OSU ad nauseum.  Laugh out loud There WERE other games, you know!!

Oklahoma and USC both romped again. The only real upset was Washington beating Washington State. One team that seems to be peaking at the right time is Tennessee. And LSU keeps it's hope for going to the Sugar Bowl alive with a huge win over Ole' Miss. And Cinderella TCU had it's season turn into a pumpkin.  Smile

My Falcons  Big thumbs up won handily, setting up a showdown with arch-rival Toledo (where my brother went to school) for the MAC West Title. If #23 BG wins at home Friday evening, they're assured a bowl berth, either in the GMAC, most likely aginast TCU or Souther Miss, or the Motor City Bowl against Iowa, Michigan State or Wisconsin. I'll take any of those games.

Your takes on your teams.

Alpha 1--

Any time a Mid-American Conference team is in the top 25, it's fine with everyone around here--having two teams in the top 25 is absolutely fantastic!

And then there is #20 Boise State --- what?? Boise State?? They just may move up a bit later today.

Michigan moves up to 3 in the BCS standings, passing LSU. If LSU wins next week, they move back ahead, so LSU fans, dont sweat it.

How about the Heisman Trophy, people? Does it go to Jason White at Oklhaoma? Did Chris Perry make a great late run to win it? Does a super soph in Lary Fitzgerald get it?

Personally, I think the best player in the country is Ben Rothlesberger. QB at Miami of Ohio. Look at his stats-and against some pretty decent teams. He'll be the first QB taken in the draft-IF he comes out. The scary thing is he's only a junior. If he stays till next season, he may be a favorite for the award.

My take is simple: We must defeat FSU this coming weekend.

So the big game of the year here in Boulder is on Friday...the dreaded Nebraska Cornhuskers come into Boulder to take on my Buffs...alas I must return home for Thanksgiving so I can't see it in person  Sad....a win vs. the Huskers would make us bowl-eligible, and who knows...we had a good start to the season, terrible middle but a solid finish...I think we could slip into the Boonie Bowl or something like that...
