Twin Cities Are The Most Fun

Tue Dec 02, 2003 5:52 am

I heard about it on the radio. I guess a list was compiled of the most fun cities in America, and Minneaspolis-St. Paul won. Based on how much is spent on recreation and leisure by the public and the government. Also a factor was variety of pro sports teams, restraunts, etc. I don't have a link, but I'm sure someone will find one. They also noted that the state of MN has more coastline than Florida and California combined with the 10,000+ lakes in the state. Pretty interesting.

I read the same thing... as a 10-year St. Paul resident before I moved to NYC, my comment about this designation is:

What one considers "fun" is TOTALLY subjective.  Big grin
An unexamined life isn't worth living.

Well, if you're talking about "fun" in a musical sense, Minneapolis is the gestation place for some legendary bands, including The Replacements, Husker Du, and, to a lesser extent, Soul Asylum.

I could have sworn Soul Asylum was from Seattle.

I've lived here for a long time and I go to college right outside the cities.

Whats nice about the cities is you get the big town expereience with all the class and culture with out a lot of the big city problems and hassle. ITs really not a bad place to live and Minneapolis is all connected by skyways for the most part so you don't have to go outside to much in the winter.

For staying ice cold.
For taking pictures of gray planes with white backgrounds.
For dreaming of SXM.
