L1011Fan: It's nothing to do with Google, the 'I'm feeling lucky' thing simply brings up the first result.

For example, try "weapons of mass destruction"

This technique is called google bombing. Reports are in Washington a White House aid asked the President to type in this phrase on a nearby lap top. The result was incredibly humorous with the President quite amused.

This latest google bombing took several weeks as more and more web site owners or bloggers wrote links labeled to Bush's name and a phrase "miserable failure." Wonderful stuff actually, no matter what the reason.

Now, I hear people are doing the same for the name "Zak". But there does not seem to be any interest whatsoever. I guess you have to have a lot of impact and significance in the world for that to happen. heh

Nope... The truth doesn't hurt; your argument is way off.

I simply think that Google should not be forcing their political agenda on people. There is nothing you could say that would make me believe that a human being did not program into Google's computers to bring up the white house page when someone types in that phrase.

L1011Fan, would you be saying the same thing if it had Bill Clinton on there when that comes up? I'm just curious, and not accusing you of any bias.

Personally, it was pretty funny, and no one should take it so seriously.

It has nothing to do with who is president but if you must know, yes, I would can someone for doing that to Bill too. I just don't think this kind of stuff belongs on Google. But, I'm not in charge of Google so I guess it's just a moot point.

L1011Fan,

I would wholeheartely agree with you if Google Inc. was to blame for this. But as briefly described above, Google's search results base mainly on links and popularity. What you need is a large number of website editors who link the President's biography with the phrase.

What kind of frustration leads to this face expression? Seems like an oddity to me.

I did try the French military victories and I had the best laugh in a long time. When the link comes up for French military defeats, click it and read that page especially about deer hunting.
