I once went over a seagull with my bicycle! Like George Costanza says, we have a deal (with pigeons, and I think the same with seagulls). The Seagull didn't move, and I ran over its wing, and got some feathers in my chain. Not a pretty sight. I actually stopped and got the seagull out of harm's way, but not much else I could to to it. I think it had a broken wing, and that's all. I guess it's the same as a pilot losing their medical?
I also ran over a squirrel once, and a rabbit another time.
The same place I ran over the rabbit, at about 90 km/h, I almost hit a bear!!! In the bear incident, I was driving my friend's Suburban at night, when out of the woods I see this black shaddow in an instance, I touched the brakes and swerved a bit. My friend said the bear tucked down, and if we had hit it, it would serve as somewhat of a ramp. I wouldn't want to see what damage that would do at 90 km/h!
