"Sounds like AP
should try keeping their mouths shut. Its not the first time they've mentioned things that would be better left unsaid."
Should they? Question of relativism. From a journalist's perspective they should because it is their obligation and responsibility, like any other media outlet, to publish information that they have gotten their hands on. From a normal person's perspective, probably not because it shows our cards to whoever we are trying to guard against. Sort of like the media's reporting on the invasion plans for Iraq. They reported the details because of their obligation and responsibility to, but any non-media affiliated person thought that the plans were better left undercover.
My own view? I feel that the government, and especially our current administration, should do a better job at protecting potentially sensitive material. The AP
was just doing its job by publishing the document; the government should and must seal off as many potential leaks as possible or classify the documents if it doesn't want this information getting out to the public.
