Saturday Night's Patriot Game - Brrrr

Sat Jan 10, 2004 3:04 am

This may go down as the 4th coldest NFL game ever. Gametime temps expected in the 5-10 degree range, with 20 mph wind and a minus 20 windchill.

The players will have it easy. The fans are gonna freeze.

Yep, I'm hoping this is advantageous for the Patriots. I don't think we'll see any deep passes being thrown.

Any predictions for the final score? 3-0?

Jeez, seems like it's been a tough year in Foxboro for foul weather. Maybe that's why they're so good at home.

And the sad thing is I'm still trying to get tickets...I'm willing to freeze my butt off for this game...I know about 20 people going to the game and they say the weather won't make a difference for them.

If this is going to be the 4th coldest game ever.....anybody know what the first, second and third coldest games would be? (I don't know...just wondering if anyone does).

I remember a game in Cincinnati some years back....actual temp had to be close to -20.

Then, there were the days when the Minnesota Vikings used to play outdoors in the old Metropolitan Stadium...no one had a chance of beating the Vikes there.
Having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a peeing section in a swimming pool.....

I don't want to hear anyone complaining about the cold, this is football and football is an outdoor cold weather sport. SUCK IT UP!!!!

As for coldest game would that have been the "Ice Bowl", Cowboys vs Packers.

Kicking that cement block of a football tommorow has gotta hurt.
My brother and brother in law are going. For once, I'm glad I'll be at home with a cold one watching on the tube.

Go Patriots!!

Joe Bastardi of accuweather.com says the three colder games would be the Cowboy-Packers "Ice Bowl" (-13), the 1982 AFC Championship (San Diego at Cincinnati), and a game in Buffalo in 1994.

By the way, should the Pats win and retain home field advantage for the next weekend, Bastardi thinks THAT game might be colder than Sat night's game. A huge arctic blast is due in about a week from now that will make this one seem like jungle fever.

If the Patriots want to send a message the players should keep the short sleeves, they can wear thermals underneath but the arms must be cut to keep the short sleeves.

Wearing short sleeves will show how tough they are, and will intimidate the Titans.

The PATS will win, but, you guys seem to think that Tennesee has BALMY has balmy weather this time of year. They have their moments when the weather is frigid, although 20 degrees is much better than 0.
