Has Anyone Ever Been A Security Guard?

Fri Jan 30, 2004 10:09 pm

I'm working on a new project at work developing business for a major security guard company. It got me wondering whether any A.netters had ever been guards and if there were any interesting stories there.

While I was at University I worked part-time as a security guard for a supermarket in Edinburgh, I also worked on the door at a nightclub on friday and saturday nights.

Regards,
Gordon.

If there is a job better suited for A.net members than security guard, I don't know what it is.

In the Navy, I stood many security watches, boy, that was boring. We had some laughs, to pass the time.

"In the Navy..." Oh how we could have way too much fun with that opening. It's too easy though.

Yeah, I've been a security guard before. In 2000-2001 school year I was in Boulder, CO and that was the easiest job ever - I sat on a.net all day participating in long-gone, but not forgotten TWFirst volumes.

Years ago, during the Christmas break when I was a college student, I worked for a couple of weeks as an evening security guard in a parking garage. It was a large garage but didn't get much use in the evenings, being located in a dreary downtown area that had lost most of its shoppers to malls. I was given no training whatsoever and had only a too-small hat as a uniform. What I would have done had I actually encountered any crimes in progress, I can't imagine. Oh, and it was deathly cold most of the time.
How I actually lasted two weeks is a miracle.

Hey KROC,

Are you former use work as for your Navy? How? Did you still like it with their army or national guard? Also, my brother was use with the navy some of long time ago and since, that I was school in St. Augustine, FL. That mean for my brother was onto the ship on their way with the 4 or 5 country. I can't exactly remember at all. I think that he went to Israel, Italy, Spain & Greece. I'll will asked him later into the AIM. Thanks!  Smile

L-188 & KROC,

HA! HA! HA! I guess I set myself up for that one, well, don't ever go to sleep in front of me, you will make up with the worst case of morning breath. By the way, I'm the Police Officer, and with the handcuff, will cuff you to a pole in the Village or SanFrancisco & let the boys have some fun with you.
