Favorite Talk Radio Show Hosts

Sun Feb 01, 2004 1:33 pm

When I get the time, I sometimes like to listen to talk radio. So what I am asking you is who are your favorite talk radio hosts?

Here are mine:

1. Micheal Savage (The Savage Nation) http://www.MichealSavage.com

2. Curtis Lela (correct me if his last name is spelled wrong)

3. Rush Limbaugh (The Rush Limbaugh Show) http://www.RushLimbaugh.com

4. Steve Malzberg
2013 Airports: EWR, JFK, LGA, LIS, AGP, DEN, GIG, RGN, BKK, LHR, FRA, LAX, SYD, PER, MEL, MCO, MIA, PEK, IAH

I am also a very big fan of Art Bell, though can't say the same for Rush, I also like George Noory, and I know that he isn't all talk, but Uncle Nasty from KBPI.

My top three are
1. Micheal Savage, This guy is a well educated right wing nut. He's like a train wreck, I just can't look away.

2. Glenn Beck. I like the fact that he can make fun of what's going on and of himself.

3. Art Bell. "Chem Trails", need I say more?

Also listen to: Neil Boortz, Jim Bohannan, Art Bell/George Noory, Glenn Beck, Moon Griffon (local), Bill Profita (local), Michael Reagan, Matt Drudge

Amused by: Michael Savage-- the man's a raving lunatic, but makes some very good points from time to time, and oftentimes says what others are afraid to.

Glenn Beck http://www.glennbeck.com He's straightforward, but also has good humour.

George Noory http://www.coasttocoastam.com I know it was Art Bell's show, but I prefer the new guy. He seems to have a more level head... at least for the time being.

Also, just about any Midday Connection http://www.middayconnection.org is good. The regular hosts are Anita Lustria and Elsa Mazon. This is a program produced on Moody Broadcasting Network (Moody Bible Institute) so it is strictly from a relatively conservative, Christian perspective. Many of the programs are aimed at stay-at-home mothers since that's who's likely to be listening, but the information is very good in general.

I would love to see a war of words between talk show host Micheal Savage and sex advice columnist (and gay man) Dan Savage.

Savage Nation vs. Savage Love. Who will be victorious? Personally, I'd pull for Dan. He's less of a pill.

I don't care much for Michael Savage. He's a little too extreme for me.

Howard Stern. He's not afraid to take on -- and routinely kick the ass of -- the hypocritical "family values" lobby that would like nothing better than to muzzle him. That, and he's very very funny.

Too bad I can't listen to him here.

And he's also a racist. A few years back he made some pretty damn derogatory remarks towards Latinos that ended in him having to make a formal on air apology in Spanish haha. So yeah i think he's a douchbeag- is that insightful enough for ya?

MULE FRITTERS!!

He should NOT have done that. I mean APOLOGIZE!! Unlike you, I actually HEARD the broadcast that day, it was a Monday in fact. It was after the death of Mexican singer Selena. All he basically said was that he didn't like Latin music, what do you call it--Tehano?? OK, maybe Fred should'nt have played gunshots.  Laugh out loud

Here are my favorites:

Rush Limbaugh--his clear voice and on-air demeanor is almost second to none. Is it small wonder why he has over 20 million listeners per week?

George Noory (Coast to Coast AM)--he's got a great speaking voice, and is definitely more level-headed sounding than Art Bell at times.

Jim Rome--he's got a great on-air delivery that while it's acquired taste, is great listening. His style is strongly satirical at times but it's very hard to do decent satire on-air.

By the way, I don't consider Howard Stern's show to be his show. His show is more like an ensemble show, since he has several co-hosts working with him at the same time in the studio.

It is CLEAR that you have no idea about Howard Stern, or the show. The "remarks" you re referring too, comes from the fact while talking about Selena's death, there were gunshot sound effects being played, and the hispanic community had a huge uprising. Funny, when he busts on white celebrities there is no uprising, or blacks etc. Funny how a racist guy has his show and fans all over the world. Spawned an EXACT copy including the same names in China, is on, on Urban Music stations in markets in the US, and has a fan spectrum wider than anyone else. There is a clear difference between what he believes, and what he jokes about. Nobody in radio takes such a solid stand like he does against racism, or a stance FOR gay rights etc. Don't blame him, or anyone else because you don't have the first damn clue as to what you are talking about...in the end the only one looking like a douche bag is you.

By the way, I don't consider Howard Stern's show to be his show. His show is more like an ensemble show, since he has several co-hosts working with him at the same time in the studio.

Not his show? That makes no sense. He started "his show" with himself, then Fred joined in, and eventually Robin. He startedthe format that 95% of other radio shows follow to this day. He started including his producer in on air bits, and other various members of the crew, as well as adding people to the on air set. Its his show. He still creates and has complete control over everything.

Jim Rome-although my class times have made it impossible for me to listen to and email his show.

The Regular Guys-A local show in Atlanta (96 Rock), every show is hilarious. Probably more over-the-top than Howard Stern. I wouldn't be surprised if they are eventually syndicated. About Howard Stern, I just can't get behind him, he's an old man acting like a 25 year old. His acts are old, his show is completely predicatable. In fact, the Regular Guys during the Super Bowl several years ago ended up ripping to shreds him when they were talking to him about making a bet on the game. He referred to them as "young punks"... thats a sign that he ought to just retire.

Sean Hannity-A great show with good guests. Its always funny to hear him tear into the liberal callers over their misguided opinions.

Phil Hendrie-His impersonations are pretty damn funny.

Worst shows
-John Boy and Billy
-Howard Stern
-Art Bell-what a loser.

Everyone who disses Stern, then says "so and so is more over the top, or better etc", are hypocrites, because Stern invented the format EVERYONE follows. He fought all the fights, dealt all the fines so radio shows can be the way they are. To say he is an "old man acting young" is absurd. For a guy who is 50, he still gets it. Funny, I had no idea when you got old, strippers, sex, jokes etc, all of a sudden passed you by. If you don;t like him fine, but to say he sucks for being "old" then saying so and so are better cause they are more over the top is asinine.

Yeah ok but that whole gunshot thing happened on the actual day of the burial- i mean Jeez how about some respect, there were family members, friends and fans etc of Selena all listening and it wasn't the time for those kind of "special effects" and comments.
