Strange Objects On Mars?

Fri Feb 06, 2004 3:45 am

someone sent me this link here today: http://www.rense.com/general48/stransge.htm
usually i dont look for the hidden boeing in the pentagon or the missing whatever things on moon pictures, but due to the fact that i had nothing to do and above site supplied the direct link to the nasa picture i gave it a shot.
after downloading the picture from nasa, i was amazed to see that the objects are really there.
does anyone have an idea what they might be or what might have caused them?

here is the link to the nasa picture:
http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/press/opportunity/20040202a/MSPan_B1_2x-B009R1.jpg

and here are pictures of the areas in question enhanced and enlarged by me:

Item A looks like "Seti Alpha VI's last remaining indigenous inhabitant." (Star Trek II the Wrath of Khan)

Item B looks like the space shuttle in USAF SAM livery. So that's where Dick Cheney went!
Happiness is not seeing another trite Ste. Maarten photo all week long.

Picture A looks like a space rabbit. These little critters are pretty rare nowadays on Mars, but were still fairly common while I was living there. Big grin  Nuts

Probably debris from the lander itself, thown away when it bounced to a halt or when it opened...

Nice ideas, though!  Big thumbs up

"Probably debris from the lander itself, thown away when it bounced to a halt or when it opened..."

when looking at the original huge 40+mb file from the nasa link above, you can see the huge bumps the airbags made, these thigns there look like they have been there before, no sign of them impacting or indication that they have recently moved. they are covered with what appears to be fine red dust, something lacking on the surfaces of the lander itself and also on the spots on the ground where the airbags had contact.

since i am too tired now i will post unmodified enlargements of the areas tomorrow for reference since loading that huge pic is annoying  Smile

Might be some salt crystals; after all, salts are everything but endemic to Planet Earth.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Well, remember...we're talking about AIR bags here. When they deflated, who's to say that a little airbag material wasn't expelled along with the air?
