My New Polo... Reliable.....

Thu Feb 12, 2004 3:18 am

I got it on friday evening.
On sunday morning the engine doesn't start. The battery is gone. I try with another battery ang the engine starts. On monday, it's to the mechanic and they change the battery.
Yesterday evening the light EPC (or something like that) and the light with the small engine on it (something about pollution) are on. I turn off the engine, I restart it and the EPC os now off, but the other one is on.

400 kms run, tomorrow, once again to the mechanic.

I'm really angry, because one of the best things is going around with the new car. My car is to the mechanic. Sad.And angry.

I'm sorry, F.pier. Stinks, because you sounded really excited in your other thread about the car.

What I don't remember is, did you buy the car new or used? And if it's got any warranty left, take advantage of it.

Damn, that's not good. Note one thing, it is not uncommon for a car to have a few problems when brand new, then that should either greatly diminish or disappear for a while, until the car ages and starts having problems again. I however would be pissed off myself if my brand new car came with these problems.

How many KM's were on it when you took delivery? Was this car a demo? How long was it in inventory? I hope the dealership is treating you like gold, because these things are unacceptable.

Sorry to hear you have some problems with your new car.
I´ve had the same problem with the EPC light; it seems to be pretty common among the newer Polos but I think it´s not anything to worry about, at least that´s what I was told by a mechanic (who is not a VW employee though).
