If You Could Redo 5 Min Of Time, When Would It Be?

Sat Feb 14, 2004 5:36 pm

Just was thinking...if you had a chance to repeat 5 min in your life and change what you said/did, when would it be?

Mine would be from 9:33 to 9:38pm on June 1, 2002...

It was the last 5 min that my Mom was alive...but I didn't know it! I know the exact time now as that 9:38 was time of 911 call...

I would have grabbed the camcorder and taped me & her exchanging last words...and held her hand, which i DIDN'T have a chance to do  Crying

when I was in NYC on a school vacation last year, the last day we were there, Me and a girl that I like (alot) were sitting on a bench together. She told me that she was cold, to which I think I replied something stupid. Also, on that trip, I hadn't brought my letter jacket, but that's beside the point. I would go back and say something smart like, "Let's go inside for some coffee."

Or I would go back and change my mind about the decision to leave behind the letter jacket. I would have brought it and offered it to her, and then invited her to coffee.

That is the one thing I would change. That moment right there.

One thing that came to mind: kissing that gorgeous girl.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

J_hallgren:

I'm sorry to hear that, that is really moving. I'm sorry for your loss  Sad

Mine would be the 5 minutes before that gorgeous girl left my aunt's BBQ back in the summer. I wish I talked to her and exchanged numbers! It always happens  Sad

Five minutes to live over...... oh boy.

I'd wait till the Lottery was drawn, go back 5 minutes and buy the winning ticket.

Short sell stocks 5 minutes before 9/11 (ok, flame me for this one)

NOT propose to my ex-wife.

Stop an old buddy who couldn't take the stress anymore.... and jumped.

Say F*** You a few less times.
Say I'm Sorry a few more times.

Only 5, could I get 10?

The first five would be sometime in November of 2000, that is when my grandmother had her first heart attack, I would of gotton her more help if we had known what was really wrong. Long Story Short she spent the next 40 days in the hospital and died painfully. Anyways thats a long story, so My next five minutes would be when my dad died I dont remember much, I was like 4.

Thats it.

I'd go back to 31st July 2003 and experience the takeoff and climbout from Heathrow runway 27R in Concorde G-BOAC again.

Things like not making a move on a girl when I had a chance I can do again with a bit of trying, but that experience can never be repeated.  Sad

Would not change five different minutes. I'd go back and live ten seconds over and over for five minutes.

Then I'd be ready to die.

December 28th, 2001. My wife & I were having a major disagreement over our financial affairs. It was our first big argument, and if I could have held my tongue/kept my mouth shut then...she would still be my wife today. Today is Valentine Day, and this morning I signed the last of the divorce papers. If only I had that 5 minutes to live over again, I'd be a happily married man right now.

Right before my parents had sex and that fertilized egg became me. I'd give my dad a condom.

Go back to Jan 15 when my B752 did a full power take off out of LGA on that cold, windy night.

Edit:

this is probably more significant than the girl, But If I could go back to the first time that one of my friends showed me the Oxy pills he was going to take, I would have taken them and flushed them down the toilet.

He does two things now. He is a cook at Village Inn, and when not there he spends the money he makes on Drugs.

Damn....

Wow, FlagshipAZ, that was touching. I am so sorry.

In 1997, I was experiencing bad back pain. On a whim, I asked my 200-lb. son to stand on where it hurt. So dumb. The next morning, as I sat down in my pickup, a disk herniated big-time. It took a six hour surgery to fix that and since then I've had a spinal fusion. One disk fragment tore a nerve that runs the length of my left leg...and I have permanent burning pain in that leg, plus a condition known as peripheral neuropathy.

I had to take a one-year leave of absence from my job...a year spent at home, in pain, looking at the four walls. I'm better now (miraculously...it would take too long to explain), but still have way too much leg pain.

Sleekjet: At least you KNOW why you have the PN! Mine is still cause unknown...it started 3 wks after I quit/retired in 2001! Do you just have the pain or numbness also? I have both...taking Neurontin..helps some..but VERY $$$$!

Wow. I'd go back and notify the FBI to put sky marshals on four certain flights.

Boeing nut,

and do you really think that they would do it just because you told them to?

I think that they would arrest you instead.

Lighten up. Its a "What if" type thing. Seeing as nobody is going back in time for 5 minutes anytime soon, everyone's thought is valid.

Crazy but it would probably be yesterday evening. I would change my reaction to a certain event… I was very pretty annoyed but I now realise it was a bloody brilliant opportunity.
