Yes but obviously this is just from the annual rainfall figures, which doesn't mean much in the long term.. Which are the figures we should be looking at.

I wouldn't be surprised if Penzance, Cardiff and Bristol faired much higher.

Has to be Newcastle or Glasgow.

I would say Glasgow but we actually don't get as much rain as we use to I think or it feels that way. I doubt it will be Newcastle its on the east coast Greanock is suppose to have the most rain in Scotland so maybe there or Liverpool as it is further west than manchester.

I will say Glasgow as we are the UK's number 1 city.

Top 9 listing:

Swansea 1361mm
Londonderry 1122
Glasgow 1033
Plymouth 1009
Cardiff 981
Preston 970
Belfast 940
Bristol 894
Manchester 856

The newspaper report also includes:
"The impact of rain on Manchester's daily life has been revealed in a survey which shows that Mancunians spend £13 million a year on umbrellas.

It is estimated that half of all workers in Manchester arrive late for work once a month because of the miserable weather and that rain costs the average resident £250 a year in ruined clothes, cancelled events and increased heating bills."

Not surprising, I thought that alot of South Western cities would be up at the top of the list. With global warming the North Atlantic Drift is moving further south where West Scotland and NW England usually bore the brunt of it. So now the South West coast, Cornwall, Devon and South Wales are getting the most rain.

Most eastern cities won't get as much rain because of relief, they are being sheltered by the mountain ranges and hills of Wales, The Peak District etc..
