According to both FoxNews and CNN, there are many flying in from all over the country to have it done... interviews with a SouthBeach couple, and another from San Antonio.

Maybe DL, UA and US should try to become the official airline of gay marriage. That way they could spread tolerance and also get some extra money in.
Somehow I can't see that happening though.

Im not getting married anytime soon but, Wow, its so nice to see that this thread hasn't been reduced to crap. I hope it doesn't turn out that way.

These are neat and strange times we live in, aren't they.

Wouldn't it be great to be on a plane to SFO and hear the flight attendant announce congrats to Mark and Bob on their new wedding.  Smokin cool

I wonder if that would bring about the same flack that the AA pilot got when he talked up Christianity.

This is my first post and most likely last.I joined airliners.net to for the same reasons as most of you.To enjoy the world of aviation to its max. Not to be entertained by the sexual preferences of it's members. This is a subject that should be personal and has no place on this public site!

This belongs just as much as, well, all the threads about "Hot FA's."

Actually, it belongs more.

Centreline - actually, this is probably a thread you should've just ignored. I don't go into threads I find inane & post my opposition to them - no one should.

Although the thread should perhaps move to non-av  Confused )

Bloomberg already said NYC won't be issuing any same sex marriage licenses, unfortunately. He did reiterate that both Bloomberg, Inc. and NYC offer full benefits and rights within thge scope of the law.

I am among the many that hope Gavin Newsom hasn't awoken the sleeping giant of prejudice.

Centerline, if the topic offended you why did you even bother to come in and read the replies. This should have just been something you passed over. Non of us should have to apologize for who and what we are and if you do not like what we are saying do not get involved, just ignore it, Afterall there are a million other topics on here which I am sure you would love.

Biggest irony is that Brittany Spears can get married in Vegas at a whim, while gays and lesbians who have been together for 40 years can't.

Oh, that's rights, it's about protection of marriage!

Gigneil, we must have read the same article this morning, but you know what, Bloomberg will not be Mayor forever, ( hell he may not make it past his first term) just like Bush will not be our President forever, (and again he may not make it past his first term). NYC, is pretty liberal, I am sure eventually it will happen here, and then everyone from the east coast will have three places to fly to NYC, Mass, and VT... what a lovely thought.

The relevance of this thread is what? Flying?
May the Force be with you...
I don't mind the subject at all, but it's not relevant here. The Non-Aviation forum, more likely. I mean, what carriers, what engines, Airbus or Boeing?

With respect to everyone here, and their respective lifestyles, opinions, etc, I would say that neither the Passion thread nor this one have any relevance whatsoever to the world of aviation. Just my 2 cents.

The porn on a plane thread at least has some bearing insofar as inflight policies and such.

Slider-
Actually the 'Passion' thread has relevance as to whether it will or will not be selected as an IFE choice. Any movie is fair game for such discussion.

I am among the many that hope Gavin Newsom hasn't awoken the sleeping giant of prejudice.

The antics of the SFO's sexy mayor aside... I'm surprised no one has as of yet brought "racism" (perhaps the most missapplied term in the English language) into this topic.

some gay person that I knew told me a while back they were thinking of starting a gay airline

As a gay UA employee... I can already tell you one exists.

It's called United! Any airline that has a music channel each devoted to Cher, American Idol and Britney Spears all in one month, it's obvious it's ran by a bunch of Queens! Come on! Just look at the female FA's scarfs! That's all our doing! Plus all the advertising in the GLBT Community we do... Fairies do like to fly!  Big thumbs up

I would also like to say that some of our straight counterparts were responsible for the double breasted, 1970's looking suit coats! No Queen had anything to do with that decision!  Laugh out loud

As one bitter DL FA once said to me snydly as I walked to my limo, "I wasn't gay enough to work at United!".  Big grin

FA4UA
The debate continues... Starwood or Hyatt... which is better
