Leaders/dictators Funding In Exile

Mon Mar 01, 2004 9:36 am

With Aristide currently seeking exile, I wonder if his financial support will come mostly from friends/family, a receptive foreign government or if he had enough smarts to mask and secretly pre-ferret out sums capable of sustaining a "comfortable" exsistence.

A couple not-too-distant examples come to mind, mainly; I imagine it was probably pretty easy for Batista camo dollars large with the help of family and Meyer Lansky prior to the revolution. One wonders too, how much of Idi Amin's comfortable style in Saudi Arabia was directly funded by what he directly stole. Just curious for opinions; Jack
