Whenever I think of Sherry I imagine a bunch of blue-haired old ladies getting smashed after going to a Matinee on B'way.

Seems like *the* old ladies' drink.

Sherry (or Xeres), especially the Fino ones, are not for the faint of heart. I've discovered recently that Fino Xeres, very very cold, is a very good match with sushi.

And, BTW, it is more and more accepted in the medical community that a reasonable intake of alcohol, maybe 25-30 ml a day, that is a beer or 2 glasses of wine, is generally good for your health. No matter in what form it comes from (beer, wine, spirit).

So I'm not surprised by these findings.

Excellent news, though not terribly surprising. Yes, there is much more to sherry than Harvey's Bristol Cream--an old ladies' drink no doubt, but nevertheless, I must admit, pretty darn good after dinner. In particular, manzanilla (like fino) is excellent with cold seafood--and quite different from the cloyingly sweet varieties.

Everything that has a little percentage of alcohol in it is good for your health. Specially if you get a lot of it.....  Big thumbs up
