don't think Spring break is just for students!
I just got back from a day trip to Vancouver BC
with a brother Jesuit. We both wanted to get out of town for a while so we drove up, for a bit of a break. We got there about 1:30, and since we've both been there a number of times, we decided to just take it easy. We saw the Vancouver Art Gallery (a first for both of us), had an early dinner in a Greek Restaurant, did some shopping and then Tom went off to a Canucks game (his father gave him a ticket for Christmas; I tried to get one but the cheapest was C$100), so I went off and saw a Canadian movie called The Snow Walker. Afterwards, went off for dessert and coffee while I waited for the game to end. We met up at 10 PM
and had an almost trouble free trip back down to Seattle. We got stopped at the boarder and was selected for a random search. It only took 10 minutes, and the customs agents were actually very nice about it and actually seemed a little embarrassed at having to do it. Got home a little before 1 in the morning. Today, I'm off to Vashon Island for a few days of rest. I'm staying with another Jesuit who is the pastor of a parish out there. Vashon is a little bit of rural bliss right in the heart of the Seattle area. I am, however, going to have to work for my supper, however, as I'm giving a Lenten day of recollection to the Parish. I really should be preparing for that instead of posting, but, oh well--I work best under pressure.
Have fun and see you all Sunday.
