While it does rain here nearly constantly in the late fall and winter, the spring and summer in Western Washington are as beautiful as anywhere. If you can brave the wet winter, it's really worth the wait come springtime. For example, it's currently 81*F and sunny here in the Seattle area.

I'm from Michigan and go to school in Boston - I'm no stranger to crappy weather. When I told my friends I was working in Seattle for the summer last year, they laughed and told me to enjoy the rain.

It was consistently the best weather I've seen in my life. Not too hot, not humid, clear blue sky and sun almost every day. I'm only talking about summer, though.

summer in the pacific Northwest (at least west of the cascades) is by far the best you'll find in the US. its the other 9 monthes that get you. (though I'd still rather have overcast skies than 10 degrees f)

I may move to Vancouver B.C. some time next year. It's basically the same weather as in Seattle. I don't mind rain though. Better than -40C and dry as hell (ex. Calgary)

Not that I don't like Calgary. Great city

well its kinda the same with DC in the springtime.Right after those cherry blossoms(which arnt so great when all the tiny leaves are all over the freakin roads)we get our annual 40 days and 40 nights of rain.It just does not stop.

then a moderate summer

then a winter with about 150 snowstorms.

USAIRWAYS321,

Typically, how is the weather in late late May and early June. On May 30 I'm leaving for Seattle for a week to do some muti-time building out there. I kind of had my hopes set high that I'll be able to scrounge up a nice amount of actual. Any chance?

late May and early June, eh? You'll most likely have sunny weather with the temps in the 70s and low 80s. Of course, the freak rain shower is always possible out here, and you'll probably see a few of those as well. it's really hard to tell, but it should be nice.

Email me if you want to get together for spotting at SEA.

USAirways321 - do you live in the same Seattle as me? What I've always heard (and seen) is that you cannot depend on sun until after July 4. No guarantee it won't be 60 degrees either.

7574Ever - if you ask me, there's no way to tell what the weather will be like until you get here.

I just looked at Wunderground.com and average high on May 30 is 65, low 57, and five out of the last seven years it rained.
But that was when I ruled the world

Perhaps I'm having memories of late June/early July instead. I've had a really bad last few days, so I'm most likely not thinking clearly, lol. Sorry about that...

Straight sun is also crappy. Here in San Diego everyone is so spolit by the "weather" that even a sprinkle here or there send hundreds (no joke) of auto accidents on the evening news, that happened in July 1998, 95 accidents on the I-5 and I-15; stupid drivers have no rain experience. I do not mean to wish people hell, but I certainly hope the next few El ninos send a bigass pacific hurrance up here. Plus I've never seen one, which is why I'm considering transfering from Presott to Daytona for my ERAU degree. At least Florida has 'weather'.

San Diego is just perfect for VFR, if you wanna spoil yourself stupid.
