I had a pint of it at St James's Gate in the Gravity bar and it does taste totally different. I still couldn't drink a whole pint, but I managed half a pint. If anyone goes to Dublin, this is a must-see-and-do place, worth every penny.

Shouldn't think so, AMSMAN. The problem has always been that Guinees doesn't travel well. If they've overcome that problem then I'm all in favour of us getting the Irish brewed stuff, it's better!

By the way, Guinness is actually (horror of horrors  Big grin ) British owned, by Diageo.

Actually I've heard that London brewed guinness tastes exactly the same as the DUblin stuff - this from an Irishman.

Shoot me down in flames here but the best Guinness I ever tried was one brewed in Malaysia under licence - really good stuff!
