What Are You All Getting Up To This Weekend?

Sun Apr 18, 2004 12:10 am

Hi there A.net freaks  Big grin

Seems so I am still on my lazy/poor weekend I'm going to dedicate a post to it LOL  Laugh out loud

I haven't had a break since the 7th Feb 2004. Every weekend has been filled with Airport photography and family occasions! Now I'm all spent up for a week!

Some weeks, fantastic weather! Where as others it has been damn right sh!t weather. This plays a vital role in aviation photography!  Smile

Right now I am surfing the web whilst listening to music! It's really quite nice outside at the moment and I am gutted that I have no money to go anywhere!  Sad

Views from my office  Smile

Views from the front of my house. Lucky car gets to soak up the sun all day  Big grin

If you can't tell by now... Yes... I am bored Big grin

Regards,

Im off to Motorbodies Vauxhall in Luton to hopefully collect my new car at its launch party. The new Vauxhall Monaro brought over from Australia, costing me a whopping £28500 but well worth it, check it out at.....

It's raining and still 300+ pics to be edited with PS (but too lazy).
So I surf a.net instead (and plug, too)

Just got down mowing the back yard for the first time this year, as spring as FINALLLY sprung in Greater Cleveland. And getting ready for a household of 10, 11 and 12 year old boys to celebrate my oldest son's birthday, which was Thursday, as he turned 11.  Big thumbs up

Then tomorrow, my wife and I head over to Home Depot or Lowes and buy about 25 bags of brick-red mulch, to re-mulch Mrs. Alpha's garden, prune some of the bushes and plants in said gardens, and then plan out the making of a rock garden on the western side of our house, that we will do this summer.

Ah, summer weather. Gotta love it.  Big grin

Well I moved to a new apartment last weekend, and unpacked most of this week. Then it was decided the whole place is being painted Friday/Monday. SO I had to pile everything into the middle of each room, and now my bedroom had been finished, so I am spending the first gorgeous day in the city unpack YET AGAIN.

Notice that with the D30 the sky appears grey whereas it is blue with the G5.
This is why I left the D30 in the bag along with the cat.

Well main reason being as that's a different aircraft, and different time of day LOL  Laugh out loud

Sky is horrendously blue in this one  Wow!

How is a dry adiabatic lapse rate different to a saturated adiabatic lapse rate, and what has that got to do with wet bulbs?

I hope to have the answer by 23:59 on Sunday. I'll keep you all posted.

"How is a dry adiabatic lapse rate different to a saturated adiabatic lapse rate, and what has that got to do with wet bulbs? "

That stuff all sounds familiar...learned about it a few weeks ago in ATOC 1050 (Weather and the Atmosphere), and GEOG 1001 (Climate & Vegetation)...

Today, nothing scheduled - nice! Might do some weeding. Mr. Harlot is mowing the lawn.

Tomorrow, we are curling in our club's annual volunteer appreciation event. Should be fun.

Just got back from EAA Sun 'N Fun Fly-In 2004 in Lakeland, Florida, what a blast! For the second year in a row they had a night airshow where pyrotechnics are attached to aerobatic aircraft, it makes for a great spectacle. While I was there I bought an Icom IC-A23 Sport NAV/Com from one of the many vendor booths there.

The weekend in review..

Friday night, did the normal club scene down in Ann Arbor: had a few drinks but still good to drive. Got home about 3:30 a.m.

Saturday night, went to a birthday party and brought some bottles of liquor to the party, ended up drinking way to much- had to be shuttled to another friends house to sleep (4 a.m.), then return back to the place to pick up my car (8 a.m.). Went to another friend's house, crashed on his couch (9 a.m.), then woke up again at 1 p.m., called into work and they already figured I wouldn't be coming in because I was wasted. Got home, slept some more until 5 p.m. Now, about to go back to sleep: I have class at 9 a.m.

Damn!

Like DeltaJax, I spent the weekend at the Sun N Fun Fly In in Lakeland, Fl. A few friends of mine and I went over Saturday, and camped out in the Ultra Light Camping section (buddy is building one). Met up with Don Rhynalds and his beautiful Grumman HU-16 Albatross. It was the one on the end, painted up in Air Force Rescue colors.

We watched the night show from on top of it's wing... about 12 of us in all... some of which were people we just happened to meet that flew in from Iowa in a Piper Warrior. The night show was spectacular.. Manfred in the glider, the T-6 team, Otto the R-22 helicopter and the parachutists... all at night and with pyro and strobes.... then the very impressive fireworks from the ground as the finale. Nicely done, though years ago they had a MiG-17 doing afterburner passes at night, but he wasn't there this year.

Unfortunately, there were 2 wrecks Sunday morning. One plane apparently ended up upside down... got pictures of it getting towed down the flight line just after Dons Albatross taxi'ed out for take off. And someone in a Destiny ultralight crashed and was airlifted out on a BK-117. Hope they both make it okay.

Lots of fun.

P.S. - Watching a LearJet doing loops and aileron rolls was quite nice as well.

But at least I was not bored this week end. Went to a friend's wedding, where I ate and drank a lot  Wink/being sarcastic, had two diferent jumpseats on the same aircraft (cockpiston on the way out, read facing seat on the way back)...

Oh, and you'll find it funny that on the wedding menu, we had "Magret de canard avec un fagot de haricots"

Hello All,

Last week and this week I've (and will be) been working like a bitch to get all my coursework essays out the way so that come this weekend I don't have much work to sit through.
I've booked a train down to London for the weekend so I can see my Dad who'll be in the Country for a dew days. I'm pretty excited as I haven't seen him (because of Uni) for the last 3 months. Perhaps will go out for a good meal, have a lie in, go to parks/museums, etc - and of course try and get a movie in. Hopefully I'll see "Shaun of the dead" - anyone else seen it?

Thats all from me, must be off to continue with my sodding 3000 word history essay due in for tomorrow (its on British politics during WWI)!
Enjoy your weekends and make the most of the sun (for all those still in the UK).

Worked 12 hours Friday, 14 hours Saturday (only ran two calls all fucking day, boring as hell). Studied for finals Sunday.

This coming weekend, I work 11 hours Friday, then going to Detroit to see A Perfect Circle play at the Palace on Saturday.
