Most of the world uses metric system, so when he asked for a metric conversion, the least would have been not to flame him.
I don't really care to have a height given in ft/in, because I now have an idea what it is, having leaved in the UK (which is ,by the way, using the metric system (officially, if not actually)).
Sebolino, I'll give you the conversion 8'4'' is 2.54m.
I am 6'1", which is roughly 1.85m.
You might want to know that you are also 6"1' (might come handy sometimes as well).
LH423, as I said a few lines above, the official system in UK and in Canada is the metrical system. UK is not using it really, but I think a lot of Canadian have made the transition (cf Gimli glider of course). So the language has nothing to do with the system...
Oh, and I think in Sweden they also use the metrical system
