Any Basketball Fans Out There?

Tue Apr 20, 2004 2:32 pm

How come I'm yet to see any NBA playoff threads

Lakers went up on the Rockets 2-0 tonight

I'll admit this is blantantly biased being a los angelino but I'm feeling a championship

I dont see the East getting in the way (once again)
the biggest pest will be San Antonio in the next series
wont that be a hard fought battle

your thoughts?

I like basketball.. And I hope every team that is left are allowed to win IMO. Just as long its not the Lakers.. I would love to see the Knicks win. But that wont happen this year.

I love Basketball. Big Kings fan here. I wouldn't rule out the Pacers, Twolves, or Spurs. Its defianately going to be a fun western series though.

The Kings and Spurs are really good too. For the past few years, the West has become a lot more interesting to watch. It's almost like the Western Champions are the NBA Champions but who knows. The Pacers and the Nets are very good too.

Lakers are just too damn good. I am a real big Shaq fan, so I wouldn't mind seeing them win another title.

If they win, Jackson will retire, as will Malone. Payton will go elsewhere, as will Kobe.

Shaq will hold down the Lakers, and they could make it to the playoffs next year, but will get knocked out in the first round.

This Laker team is like an Olympic Dream Team. The team is stacked.

If the Mavs can beat the Kings, I think they will once again be knocked out by the Spurs or Lakers (whoever they play).

The Nets can do well if Kidd is 100%.

The Pistons look solid, but I think the Pacers can take them.

Once again the West will take the title this year, no doubt.
Go big or go home

The Lakers look great on paper, but they are very beatable. As long as they can keep some kind of chemistry going, they'll win another title. And then the team will be broken up and we can look forward to another team winning the title for once (yeah yeah I know the Spurs won last year and all)

Of the teams that can challenge the Lake show in the West, its the Kings, Spurs and T-Wolves. These three teams are solid. In the east Detroit and Indy look good enough to make the Finals but forget about winning. The Western teams are just too stacked. I don't think the Nets will do it this year.

With the age of our Hornets, and Mashburn being injured, and likely being traded in the off-season, I don't see us making a deep playoff run.

The Hornets move to the Western Conference next year (in a division with Dallas, SA, Houston, and Memphis), so they'll need quite a bit of retooling to remain at least somewhat competitive. We've got 4 good starters (Baron, Magliore, PJ Brown, and David Wesley ) to build from. But from then on, we'll need some help.

PS: I'll take the Lakers to win the whole thing, but they'll be in a fight with Detroit or Indy, whichever comes out of the East. It won't be a cakewalk for LA.

Me wonders why the Mavs were never interested in Eddy Curry during trading time. Curry's everything the Mavs stand for, score as many points as possible then you won't have to break a sweat doing anything else.

Huge Pacers fan here...they goin all they way baby  Big thumbs up seriously though...the pistons are hella scary, and I can see any one of the following teams making it from the west: lakers, spurs, wolves, kings (if they can pull things together). I honestly think the finals will be pretty tight this yr...seems like people are taking the pacers and pistons for granted (I dont think the Nets have a chance). Anyways...GO PACERS~

Looks like Mashburn won't be back with the Hornets. He was dismissed from the team today after comments made to the Miami Herald regarding diagnosis and rehabbing of a knee injury. He missed all but 19 games this year, and is not on the Hornets playoff roster due to the injury.

He says he's mulling retirement (which I'm doubting), but I'm looking more at an off-season trade.

Yes my Kings won tonight! I say if we can win one at their home then we take the series. However the Twolves are going to be very challenging.

Uhh, y'all are in line to play the Wolves. And we will be happy to knock you out.

surprising to see pistons lose at home...the bucks can be a pretty serious team if their rough times are over now. I still think the pistons will meet the pacers in the ecf though.

I'm a huge fan of college basketball, the only time I can stand to watch the NBA is during the playoffs. But mostly, I just stick to college bball.

MSYTristar,

Is Bob Donewald Jr still at Charlotte Hornets? He used to coach London Leopards, and he was really good coach. I don't really follow NBA, I love britball, followed it for about 10 years, never used to miss a game. I support Newcaslte Eagles, who have some good individual players, but put them together, and they sometimes are useless.

My 5-year old daughter and I are going to catch the Hornets/Heat game in the N.O. Arena tonight. We also caught the 77-71 defensive struggle on Saturday that the Hornets won. Go Hornets!!!
