State Rep. Derrick Shepherd said he filed the bill because he was tired of catching glimpses of boxer shorts and G-strings over the lowered belt lines of young adults.

Clearly this man has issues.

This is definitely not the government's place...although I do agree.

Will there be a provision protecting "plumbers' crack"?

Give 'em a break. Most Louisianans are too busy buying the other kind of crack with their welfare checks to worry about properly fitting pants.

I like how he blames the parents:

"I'm sick of seeing it," said Shepherd, a first-term legislator. "The community's outraged. And if parents can't do their job, if parents can't regulate what their children wear, then there should be a law."

That guy needs to have his head screwed on tighter, I don't think they got it tight enough the first time.

Wa wa wa, they must be bad parents cuz their kids are, god forbid, EXPRESSING THEMSELVES!!!

BS.

This guy's a newbie, and he proves it more and more every day: a while back, while Wesley Clark was still running for the Democratic nomination, he blew into N.O. for a campaign stop, and Shepard was one of the sponsors. Shepard said going in that he'd never met Clark, but felt like he'd "met him spiritually".

Clothes should be optional in Louisiana because it is so damn hot and humid in the summer!
