Need Some Simpsons Information

Tue Apr 27, 2004 7:02 am

I need help identifying a song in a Simpsons episode and identifying an episode name. I consider myself an expert when it comes to the Simpsons as I watch it 3-4 times a day. But these two questions are nagging as I can't figure them out:

(1) In the episode "Marge on the Lam", before Ruth and Marge leave for a night on the town Ruth puts in a tape. It's a bouncy tune about sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows. What is the name of this tune and by what artist? I need to find a tape of the full song for a practical joke I've got planned for a co-worker.

(2) In an early episode, Mr. Burns and Mr. Smithers travel down to the depths of the plant. They pass through several high-security areas to eventually wind up at a computer console. After all of the high-tech security features, Mr. Burns finds a broken screen door flapping in the wind with a mangy mutt. What was this episode?? I cannot find it in the episode guides and this episode doesn't appear to be in syndication.

TIA

I don't know the title of the second episode but it's the one where Homer becomes Union president to try and get back their dental plan. (It was on a few nights ago in Toronto!)

Hope that helps your search!

The song is Lesley Gore's "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows"

OK I checked it out, the second episode is "Last Exit to Springfield," from the 4th season.

Wow, those were some fast responses! For some reason I thought the episode I was looking for "Last Exit to Springfield" was season 2. Season 3 at the latest. That episode hasn't been on in the Denver market for a very long time. It seems like we get the same 35-40 episodes over and over...

I found a used CD for around $5 of Lesley Cole that has that song on it. *in a Mr. Burns voice * Excellent!

Thanks for the help guys!

Entertainment Weekly, a couple of years ago, named "Last Exit to Springfield" as the best "Simpsons" episode...

"Homer, your boss said it you don't come in today, don't bother coming in on Monday....." "WaaaHoooo...!! Four Day Weekend...!!" DoooooH..!!

I've been a HUGE fan ever since the show first started.
