"IF YOU MEET THE EXPECTATIONS OF WOMEN YOU EXCEED THE EXPECTATIONS OF MEN"

What a load of crap.
Judging by the YYC
features which seem important in the questionnaire, I'd say Volvo is designing a car for incompetent owner/operators of motor vehicles. A demographic, obviously, not exclusive to females...
I see this marketing venture of Volvo's as a step in the wrong direction. The sole purpose of designing and building a motor car should be to facilitate the skill of driving. A skill which is gravely lacking in many of the motorists today. Owners should have proper knowledge of their vehicles and be able to at least perform minor maintenance. Far too many car owners are illiterate and incompetent when it comes to their motor vehicles. We seem to be living in an age where ignorance and incompetence is rewarded. A reflection of this can be seen by the emphasis placed on such marketing practises as demonstrated here by Volvo for the YYC
. Instead of making the drivers look forward to learning about owning/operating their cars, car manufacturers are making motorists more comfortable with their ignorance of their cars and their driving skills. Don't know how to park? That's okay... The car will do it for you. Don't know how to check your oil nor tires? That's okay... The car will do it for you. Absent minded? That's okay... Our cars don't have keys nor fuel filler caps. Don't know how to read a map? That's okay... The car will tell you where to go.
When are car manufacturers going to build a car that takes care of the insurance premiums? I'd certainly buy one!
Car manufactures should stick to designing and building cars for competent motorists, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Boeing doesn't design and build planes with female or gay pilots in mind, do they? I'm just scratching the surface...
