BMW - The Ultimate Drive Event.. WOW!

Sun May 02, 2004 9:38 am

Today was just incredible! The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is putting on it's annual BMW Ultimate Drive Event and today it made a stop here in Little Rock. What they are doing is they have about 20 different makes of BMWs and after you sign up you can drive any of the ones you want, as often as you want. For every mile that is put on each car, BMW donates money to the SGK Foundation. It is such a great cause and what a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I got a chance to drive the 330i Coupe, 545i SMG, 745iL, X5, and the 330i convertible. This may not excite some of you but to me it was just phenomenal and I thought I would share it with you all (I drive a 1998 Chevy Cavalier everyday so you can imagine why I was happy!).

Not only was I helping to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation but I also got to drive the hottest BMWs there are.

If this sounds exciting to you, look and see for yourself if it will be making a stop in your area and you can sign up too. Just go here BMW . It is a lot of fun!

This is a very worthy charity event. I participated last year at Sterling BMW in Virginia (near IAD). The whole thing was top shelf; catered food and soft drinks, door prizes. I will be back this Monday to drive a 3.0 Z4 and a new 525i. I reserved the cars in advance on the BMWUSA website. Check it out when it comes to your town!
Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!

That is absolutely incredible! Hey Jutes85, we better start a petition to get something like this up in the Great White North!  Smile

Strech 8,

I bet that you will love the Z4 3.0. I test drove it two weeks ago and I felt bad when I had to return the keys to the dealer...  Crying
The handling charecteristics were better than the Boxster S, IMO.

Stretch-

Don't bother with the 525i, with only 184hp; its hardly enough for a 2 ton sedan, look at the 530i.

GulfstreamGuy-

The coupe and convertible 3-series are actually designated 325ci and 330ci.

You have obviously never driven an X5, or hell, even a 330xi.

I have driven an X5 a couple times in a Chicago winter...

Its a joke, A Ford Aerostar that I drove a couple years ago with Electronic 4WD held the road better.

Oh Lot, where have you been? I have been missing your incredibly intellectual contributions to automotive related threads.

By the way, the X5 you drove in the winter in the snow, did it have proper tires, or did it have 18" plus rims and snow tires? Wait a minute, you're smart enough to differentiate between snow tires, all season tires, and summer tires, right? I thought so.  Big grin
