Your Favorite Car Commercial

Fri May 07, 2004 10:48 pm

As the competiton between the car manufacturars getting bigger, the car commmercials are getting better and cleverly prepared everyday.I like watching car commercials. And my latest favorite is AUDI commercial.

I don't know if its aired in your country but I am seeing it for a while here.An Eskimo oldman takes the little child for a walk around ice covered plains while teaching little one traces of wild animals.
He shows a trace turns to the boy says "wolf" in his language.Little boy looks at him and shows he understand.

He shows another trace says "Bear" in his language.Little boy acknowleges.

Then finally he looks for another one, examines it.Turns to the child say
"Audi,......Quatro" Its really good one to show the quality, power and well known of the brand.

My runner up would be Toyota. Two guys driving on a country side and they see this incredible girl in miniskirts hitch hiking with a Toyota behind her broken on the road.

Driver approaches to the girl as looks at the brand of the car then steps on the gas and drives away. The other surprised. Then he explains. It was a trap.Have you ever seen Toyota broken on the road? While the girl removes a mask from her face showing actually she was a bloody killer.

I'd like to hear about your favorite car commercial.

PS:By the way I hope this is not taken as an advertisement of any car,I am only interested with the commercial itself not the brand  Smile

Yeah that one was good, my favorites are:

Smart - with Robbie Williams
Peugeot 206 - with assorted Indians (Asian Indians, that is)

Smart: Guy drives around in london, with RW blaring "Free" from the speakers and he sings along...terribly loud and wrong. He finds a parking slot, gets in, but....NO MONEY, and the police lady already on her way...5 cars away.
He turns up the music and sings "I got Love running through my veins" at the top of his lungs and tries to hustle a few bucks from the crowd, but nobody gives. Policelady finally arrives, eyes him coldly and says "Nice try", and suddenly RW comes along, hands the guy a few bucks and says "It's LIFE running through my veins...btw, nice car, keep it up". Policelady melts down, Guy's mouth hanging totally agape!

Peugeot: Young Indian sees a pic of the peugeot 206, then remodels his old rustbucket, using walls, an elephant, welding etc. to reshape his car...in the end it looks like a Peugeot, 4 young Indians riding in it, cool ambient music streaming from the speakers and the move their heads VERY cool, and all the nice Indian ladies look very hot.

Both extremely funny...

Indeed he does, and until RW mentions it, you don't really get the idea that this is really a Smart commercial...btw there was Mercedes Diesel car commercial a few years ago with Mika Hakkinen.

He stops to pick up a lady whose car went dry, and she says him "hey, nice car, no noise" and he answers "yes, it's a Diesel". She laughs and goes "oh yeah right, and I guess you're a Formula one driver", and he just smiles and says "exactly" (he was world champion then).

Never seen that one. But I have seen another Mercedes commercial with Mika. You see a mercedes driving fast as hell on the finnish roads. And every person who see the car blames Mika. But when the car parks it's is wife getting out.  Big thumbs up
Now that is how I want a girl to drive Big grin

Yes I agree with you on the Peogeot commercial. It fus fuuny as hell.Especially those guys rocking heads  Smile

I havent seen the Mika Hakkinen Mercedes commercial but that sounds pretty funny too.

I also saw the VW Tuareg commercial. It was in Turkish so I can't translate it all here but it was amazing how the car performs on off roads.

Have you ever heard about this one.I have never seen it but I was told about it;
A guy getting dressed, wears all red,all clothes have Ferrari sign over it.Ferrari T-shirt,Ferrari watch,Ferrari cap,Ferrari shoes, parfume etc.Goes to his garage.A beautiful looking red Ferrari. there. He starts the engine starts driving it with pleasure on the highway. He then starts making some speed.Passing all the cars on the highway. Then the camera shows the rear mirror.A silhuette just appears at the mirror passes the car and wroooom it disappears in the distance. Then only comes those simple letters.PORSCHE.  Big thumbs up

So, have a nice weekend y'all, I'm off!

One of the first ads to emerge from DaimlerChrysler after the merger. It involves all of the models in the entire automotive family racing towards each other at high speed on the salt flats in the early morning.. Very nice.

I like the one for the VW Bug where some assclown is standing infront of a Dome talking about the structure and how it offers "more room" and such, and some schlep pulls up in a VW bug that "obscures" the dome and like 5 teenage chicks pile out of it. It was then that I decided I needed a rig like that. The dome shape gives me optimum space for my Robert Smith Makeup and I get to feel giddy like First Time Teenage Driver Chick.

That Peugeot commercial is just great! First time I saw it, I was glad that creativity had returned to advertisement!

I like most of the Mercedes-Benz commercials a lot. The latest one with Mika Häkkinen "racing" to some posh party in an E-Class is again quite nice: They start off with his wife (?) asking him whether they had taken along the gift. He replies, in an indifferent tone, "Yes." She keeps on asking him questions and he keeps replying "yes" in that same indifferent tone, until they get to "And you'll never again sing Finnish songs in the shower?" "Yes." When they arrive at the party, Mika asks "Have we taken along the gift?"

Another one, also for the E-Class, emphasised the advanced braking system of that car: Two guys are driving on a contry road, appreciating the good handling of the car and so on - they're going rather fast, in other words. After a few moments, you see a tree lying across the road they're on. When the driver sees it, he's already pretty close to the tree and slams on the brakes. The car stops about a metre away from the tree, and the two guys in the car are tense from the shock. Then, about two seconds later, the passenger yells "BRAKE!!!"
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

There is one car advert that puts all the others in the shade. I don't know if it was shown in the US, but I'm sure it was shown all over Europe.

COG

The advert for Honda Accord that features all the car parts spread out over a huge room like one of those domino runs. It's just so cool. 120 seconds of cinematic perfection. I liked it so much I sent off for the DVD. Big grin

If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and visit the web site
http://multimedia.honda-eu.com/accord/ Click on the cog, then click on the link that says "The two most precise minutes of TV you will ever see".

[edit] Just found a flash version - JUST WATCH IT!

My favorite is for the X5 when the little guardian angels (looking like Hitler Youth with wings) were protecting the occupants with their handsfree wireless sets by hovering around each tire....

I think at that very moment, I wanted to tear the emblems off my BMW...

What were they thinking....?

Sorry..I don't think this is the kind of response you were looking for...

I like when that girl gets her friends to push that guys Tundra off a cliff, because he spends too much time with it and his friends.

I like that one for the Nissan Sentra where they're parked alongside the road and one guy is doing his business by a tree... and the driver starts to take off. The water baloon fight is pretty good too.

On a side note... I love Mazdas... almost bought a new 3 yesterday... but that kid on their commercials that goes "Zoom Zoom" is kinda creepy, is it just me?
