Have You Been Abused By A Woman In A Relationship?

Fri May 14, 2004 3:55 am

Many men do not report abuse rather than deal with the examination
of their masculinity.. They choose to "grin and bear" the abuse unless
they are severely injured.

I have been hit myself in my first marriage and "she" did also
throw things at me.

What is your experience?

Yep. My ex-wife used to beat my ass every time she got drunk (every night). It was the inspiration for the K.O.

no physical harm. actually not that much emotional harm either... I dont mean to come across as arrogant, but physical attraction has brought much more women in my bed that i would have liked. trust me, it may sound like a dream but its boring and it sux.

NO mothers. That is another kind of abuse.

K.O? I do not understand that...

BUT i hope you who answer understand that this is something
serious and not a joke!

The most recent government survey under the White House backed National Violence Against Women Act found
835,000 annual male victims of domestic violence as well as 1.5 million women victims. In other words, the largest most recent government survey whose purpose was to discover how much violence there is against women-actually found out that men make up 35% of domestic violence victims. The survey
however, lumps together singular incidents of pushing, shoving, grabbing, and pulling hair with having something hard thrown, being beat up, threatened with being killed, hit, kicked, or bit.

In America, the land of "equal" rights it is only wrong for a man to beat a woman. If she does it to him it is OK in the eyes of the law.

See, I have never understood that: If a woman is abused, all hell comes down on the man but if a man is abused by his wife/girlfriend, he is laughed at even though society has taught him it is wrong to fight a woman. WTF is that all about? If someone comes at me in a blinding rage, I fight. I don't care what gender it is or how I felt about the person that morning.

For the record, abuse also happend in same-gender relationships as well.

Yes, By a girl I dated for 2 years. She slapped me multiple times and twice she swung a crowbar at me. I am kicking myself in the ass for not calling the cops on her.

New worst post ever. That one makes Jcs17's 'mom jokes' seem fresh, creative, and funny.

If we include emotional trauma, I could have a field day with the girl my dog replaced.

It appears that the original question struck many. But bad jokes are just that, bad.

Lemee tell ya'll a short story here. I had a girlfriend some 26 years ago that would, out of the blue, hit me hard enough to cause severe bruising. When my reaction was to walk away she'd ask why I didn't hit her back. Well gee, let's think. If I'd hit her I'd not only be not the person I am, I'd be the one in jail. Why I stayed with that psychotic bitch for 2 months is another question, she was in retrospect no good in any way, if you know what that means.

In conclusion abuse is never a joke, and never a source for shame.

Good post Bofredrik.

Had the same problem with my first wife, a 5' tall Filipina. Normaly she was nice enough, but sometimes if things didn´t go her way she would develop a nasty temper, throwing dishes around, slapping me or on one occasion attacking me with a Bolo, the Philippino version of a machete. I´m much taller and stronger than her, and I had to grab her a bit rough to disarm her. I didn´t strike even she told me I should do it to prove that I´m a real man. I thought "bingo, I hit you, you´ll run first to a doctor to get a statement about the injuries and then you´ll run to the cops and I´ll go to jail!" I was really angry and to prevent myself from doing anything I might regret later I usualy left the house and took a long walk to cool down. She might have seen it as a weakness, me not acting the tough Macho.
