Yesterday's Idaho primaries was no big deal but 7% of teh state's registered Republican voters showed up to the polls to vote "None of those listed" over President George W. Bush.

"..Partial results showed that Kerry, who claimed most of the state's nominating delegates in the February caucuses, polled 84 percent in the nonbinding popularity contest.

"None of those listed" was polling 5 percent while Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, New York activist Al Sharpton and perennial candidate Lyndon LaRouche split the rest.

Three things...

One has to wonder if it is an open or closed primary.

Second, why is Kerry always the "presumed", "assumed", or "presumptive" nominee? He already has the nomination locked up. I just find it funny that even though Kerry has won the nomination, it is implied that he might not get it.

Finally, if one checks every election, between 5% and 10% of a candidate's party will not vote for their nominee. These people are the ones who almost always have a protest vote, Republicans tend to vote for the Constitution Party while Democrats vote for the Watermelon (Green) Party.

HELLO? I know conservatives like to look past the facts and disregard information they don't like, but you asked the same question in this thread:

and it was promptly answered. See reply #9.  Insane

Is this what you call fuzzy math?  Confused

That's only true when there are other candidates on the ballot.
George W Bush is the only GOP Presidential candidate.
And yes, Idaho's primaries are closed primaries.
