Bulldozer On The Warpath In Colorado

Sat Jun 05, 2004 1:19 pm

A man who is apparently very upset at some local zoning board decisions built and armored cab on a bulldozer he owns, welded himself inside it and is now demolishing select properties in the City of Granby Colorado.

He apparently is upset that a concrete batch plant was allowed to expand around his property without being forced to by him out.

Police have been using another peice of construction equipment, a scraper from the town landfill to attempt to pin the bulldozer to one spot to stop the unathorized urban renewal that is occuring.

I used to live not far from Granby for a short time back in the mid 80's.

Be that as it may, this guy sounds like a total idiot.

Yeah, but an idiot in an armored D-7 is a force to be reckoned with.

I saw on the news that he finally ran out of hydrolic fluids after demolishing MANY buildings and taking fire from the cops...

They couldn't stop him after a while, and I thought why not put a grenade under the bulldozer and stop the mayhem?

Fucking HILARIOUS. This is why I love this country - nowhere else does one have this kind of entertainment. Or placenames like Granby for that matter.

We just embarked on an ambitious downtown redevelopment effort and this will not help," said Granby mayor Ted Wang.

Stop leaving keys inside heavy equipment folks.

See part of the problem is that he got himself a piece of equipment too small for the job.

He should have went with a D-9

They work pretty well for the Israeli Army, Even the US army bought them for work in Iraq.

Don't think so.

But you have to admit he did a pretty good A-Team job on that Bulldozer

Where he apparently finally either was disabled, high centered(I think) or ran out of somthing.

HAHA that's just hilarious.

Are they still just trying to get inside the thing or what? I haven't heard anything new in a few hours.

Remember when that guy stole a tank from the armory in San Diego and was heading south on the high way? Driving over cars, seemingly invincible? This is almost as good. What will it be next?

Yeah I remember that. After that tank got stuck, didn't the police open the top of the tank up and shoot the guy to death? I can't remember what happened.

What's next? We'll never know. Hopefully it'll be Michael Moore starving himself to death if Bush gets re-elected.  Laugh out loud

Bulldozer huh?

Ten years ago, actually 9, we had a guy wandering here in a tank from the old armory, that was funny.

Well the update is that they found the guy dead in the cab. It only took three attempts to blast their way inside the cab before they gave up and decided to cut their way in with an oxy-acytlene torch.

EDIT: I know you guys don't trust fox news but they have a couple other photos of the damage. I think we can consider them real.

Or placenames like Granby for that matter.

You ever been there slick? Don't slam it unless you've been there. It's a great little town within a major skiing region, (Winter Park) and I've been there many times myself.

And I'm a little surprised at some of you thinking that this was hilarious. Very imature. Ask the people who live there. I bet they think it was a fuckin' riot.  Yeah sure

As for the suspect, there I agree. Another Darwin award winner.
