The Lakers Are Toast

Sat Jun 12, 2004 6:25 am

Well, I don't know how many watched game 3 of the NBA Finals last night, but I did. The Pistons will win the title. They play as a complete team. The Piston's defense? The Laker's 68 points was the lowest total EVER in 550 Laker playoff history. The Lakers appeared to simply give up in the 3rd quarter. So much for all the crap about the inferior Eastern conference.

Best home made sign at the Palace: "Hey Jack, You Can't Handle the Truth!"

I don't think the Lakers are toast. I do think the Pistons will win it, but it will be a very good series.

When you think about it, Detroit really could have had the Lakers on the brink of being swept had they managed not to blow Game 2.

As long as the Pistons don't bend over for the last several games like San Antonio did, they should have themself a title.

They're not toast yet. I've seen that team pull too many series' out of their asses when they looked dead to say they're toast.

Game 4 is the key game. If the Lakers can win, I think they win the series, but if the Pistons win, I just can't see the Lakers taking Detroit 3 in a row, the way the Pistons are playing.

Well, I was right. Now, with the Pistons firmly in command at 3 games to 1, we wait for a home win to seal the championship for Detroit.

Go Pistons!
