Nuclear Test Ban Agreed: India And Pakistan

Sun Jun 20, 2004 5:05 pm

Just saw on Sky News that India and Pakistan have agreed to place a moratorium in nuclear testing, and establish a hotline between the two countries.
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Shucks. Next time we test, we'll claim it was to maintain our deterrent against China. Or maybe Burkina Faso. After all, our nuclear program isn't even Pakistan specific; weaponization began as an immediate consequence of the first Chinese tests in 1964, and the SSBN program is an overt indicator of the thrust for a second strike capability. Further, any agreement with Pakistan isn't worth the paper its signed on.
