Henman Crashes Out

Thu Jul 01, 2004 12:13 am

Well we all knew it was going to happen and it finally has.
All together now.

'Henman, you suck!'

He lost to a Croat who wiped the floor with him in straight sets 7-6, 6-4, 6-2

I guess it's now upto the England bowl's team to win something for England  Yeah sure

I think you got to the guts of it there, Mark.  Big grin

Um. Why is this news? It isn't like he's ever going to win the thing is it? He's a decent player, but not the best, nor will he ever be. Don't slag him off for not being what he isn't, praise him for what he is, the only decent player from these shores in half a century (THAT is another issue).

I was pulling for Henman. It would be great if he could win at home. Gosh, Concorde retired, and now this . . .
Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!

It was completly Henman's fault that loss. Ancic played well right from the first serve...and Henman spent more time watching the ball rather than actually moving his ass to try and return the volley!!

Oh well, there's always next time (hmm, where have we heard that before??  Big grin lol)

Hehehe!

So he didn't win. Ancic was a better player. No shame in losing to a superior opponent. Like Banco said, he has played well. Just think, 10 years ago all we had was Bates. At least he has gotten somewhere. Hopefully this is the srat of things to come. Alas, I dont think Henman will improve from now on. He may have missed his chance now.

Wimbledon this year is not much of a sports high.

Did anyone see the Serena-Capriati match yesterday? 6-1, 6-1. It was over before it started.

What's the name of that Russian girl with the 3m legs? About the only reason to watch tennis, except for self-torture maybe.

I personally used to hate henman.

In recent years however he has gotten better and so has his conduct. Now I quite enjoy seeing him play. I went to a match of his at UCLA once.

I would really like to see him win a Wimbledon championship. The older he gets I suppose the less likely it is. But you never know. Ivanisevic managed it in 2001.
