Law & Order On NBC

Sat Jul 03, 2004 1:24 am

Seems like the revolving door at the original "Law & Order" is swinging, again. Jerry Orbach (Detective Lenny Briscoe) leaves, and now looks like Elizabeth Rohm (Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn) is flying the coop. Good move for her? Who would you pick to fill her shoes? My vote BRING BACK Angie Harmon (ADA Abbie Carmichael)!!!

Happy Friday!

ADA Carmichael was the hotness!!!  Big thumbs up  Big thumbs up

I can't get enough of Law & Order... with 4 new episodes a week and about 20 reruns on TBS and TNT... it is the only show I watch.

Detective Benson is hot too!

ADA Carmichael was the hotness!!!

Indeed.  Smokin cool

I love Law & Order too, though I am not such a big fan of the newer seasons/episodes. I prefer the old ones with George Dzundza, Paul Sorvino, Chris Noth, but also the seasons with Orbach and Bratt together with Sam Waterston.

They show it on three cable tv channels here, each with a different season, I think. So there is no shortage of L&O.  Smile

Briscoe was "The Man". It'll be interesting to see how Dennis Farina will fit. Good casting, I guess, as I wager he'll be an "old school-style" like Lenny was. Too bad Chris Noth wasn't offered a chance to return.

"L&O" is the rare example of a show that can have turnover, and still be fresh.

When will we get the version that was used on a Simpsons episode? "Law & Order: Elevator Unit"?

Wait, new episodes are still airing? Well, some one tell me about Serena. I didn't know she was leaving. She was my favorite ADA. ADA Carmichael was annoying, her accent included. My favorite cast was Briscoe, Green, Van Buren, McCoy, Southerlyn and the woman DA with the glasses. I also liked the woman with the really short hair and black hair, I think she was before Carmicheal.

Briscoe isn't gone -- he's just going to focus on SVU instead of acting in both the original and SVU. Jerry Orbach wanted to cut down on his schedule.

In order of preference:
Law & Order: SVU
Law & Order: Crime & Punishment (real-life courtroom)
Law & Order (original)
Law & Order: Criminal Intent

CI just drags too much for my liking... and I'm not a fan of Vincent D'Onofrio, although he's a good actor.

The blurb in the news I read was that she was "pursuing other acting jobs." She'll leave in mid season, according to the same article.

The woman you refer to AA is Jill Hennesy's character, "Claire Kinkaid".

And the DA after Adam Schiff, was Dianne Wiest as "Nora Lewin".

And I guess being a Texan makes me fond of Abby... Big grin

No, the one with short hair was former Bond girl Carrie Lowell, who also happened to be my personal favorite of the many beautiful L&O ADAs.  Smile

Briscoe is going to SVU???? The original show won't be as good without him. Anyway JAL777 thanks for ADA Carmichael's pic. I agree, bring her back!

Thanks for posting that great pic, JAL!

I'll bet the folks at CBS are watching the proliferation of "L&O" franchises with care. Expect many more "CSI" shows from them.

I was sad that the ABC drama "L.A.Dragnet" w/Ed O'Neil failed, as it was a Dick Wolf show as well. Would been cool to see them do a cross over episode, like "L&O", and "Homicide" used to do...

I like CSI: Miami more than the first CSI, but I think I'll avoid CSI: NY. Anything to avoid bad personal memories.
