I wonder if SAV was equipped with those defibrillator devices, like some airports are. Though I don't believe they work in all cases.
A defribulator works in V-tach (when the heart beats to quickly to effectivly pump blood) and V-fib (when the heart spasms and does not pump blood at all) which are the two main types of heart attacks. A defribulator does *not* work in assestole conditions when the heart is totally dead, the civilain units simply don't have the power to revive the heart without doint serious nerve damage at the same time. I think the advanced models carried by EMS can take a whack at an assestole condition, but reviving the dead is hit or miss.
Defribulators really save lives, with CPR
the odds of survival soar compared to nothing or CPR
alone. I have AED certification myself.
I heard that about what happening with former governer dies with the heart attacks in SAV today and this is sad to hear about what happened with him.
Indeed very sad, this sort of traumatic death puts a terrible burden on the family, especially since they were present
