Any Other Republicans?

Sun Jul 18, 2004 4:05 am

This site seems quite liberal for the most part. Any other Republicans who are for President Bush? Who strongly dislike Michael Moore and John Kerry? There have to be at least a few people.

It's not liberal, it's polarized. Every now and then I put up a Presidential Preference poll and as of right now, the votes are tied evenly for both bush and kerry among this site's respondents.

This place USED to be a Republican stronghold, very much a place where the GOP had much support and the Dems had little. It has, since, balanced out. And quite a few political wars rage now and then.

Major political players:

On the right: B757300, L.1011, L-188, MD-90, JeffM, Concordeboy, Jcs17

On the left or moderates supporting the left: Superfly, Alpha1, DLKAPA, Aloha717200 (me), DC-10guy, MattD

And then there are the supporters of each side that generally do not go to battle much here.

There are others which I am sure I'm forgetting. But this is who is usually pissing on either side of the fence. I make no bones about it, I have no use whatsoever for the Bush administration and am working to help their ouster this november. Likewise, those listed above are working just as hard to get Bush re-elected.

Welcome to war, son.

I'm a Republican, as well, and I will be voting for George W. Bush in the 2004 elections. Liberal policies don't work for America, and statistics prove it.

Who's alter-ego is Bushcheney2004? I think we might need to look up some IP addresses.

A serious question about your nickname. Is this some sort of new marketing strategy of the Republicans? Do you get paid for doing this? Does your dad know you're using his computer?

I agree with Ben, I'd like to know who Bushcheney2004 is, nobody joins this site for political reasons.

On the left or moderates supporting the left:

Just curious; On your barometer; Why is there simply "on the right" ( implying intolerance and polarization ) with no "or moderates supporting the right" qualifier that you use to delineate the left?

Liberal policies don't work for America, and statistics prove it.

Oh yes, that's right, we're MUCH better off than we were 4 years ago.  Insane

It will be many years before I vote for another Republican presidential candidate again. I supported Bush, he lost my support big time, and has left me disillusioned with a Republican party that has drifted far away from true conservative values and into the realm of extremism.

I'm a social conservative and a political moderate. Bush does NOT reflect the conservative values that I have, nor those of friends of mine who are republicans.I do admit that, since Bush lost my support last year, I have been moving left in my political views and have, as you might say, become a "tree-hugger" concerned with the environment. I feel that I have a right to be concerned about the environment that this president is destroying.

If Bush had a (D) beside his name, I'm sure none of you GOP guys would support his agenda. The mere fact that he IS a Republican is what allows you to support him I think. You'd never support this shit from a democrat. Likewise, I don't care WHAT political party Bush is from, whether a dem or a repub, I'd be voting him out this year anyway because the man is bad for our country. Bad for our future. And the damage he's caused in 4 years will take 25 years to repair.

Liberal policies don't work huh? I've yet to see the neocons do any better. Bush is NOT a true republican, he's a neocon. True republicans tend to have their head on semi-straight, see John McCain for example. Who, for his own political sake, cannot openly support John Kerry lest he face a crucifixion from his own party.

I am a full Republican, having worked at two Presidential Events (one that included me being on the ramp at BOS for an Air Force One arrival), on Gov. Mitt Romney's gubernatorial campaign in Massachusetts in 2002, and I will be doing work on a local race for state representative while I'm still living in Massachusetts.

Oh yes, I will be voting for President Bush...I can't stand Kerry (the Boston media portrays him as a golden boy, which makes me quite sick).

Because, as far as I know, everyone in that list has openly stated here before that they ARE Republicans, not moderates supporting the right. I apologize if this is in error, but, that's as far as I know.

Oh, almost forgot. Basically a Republican though I vote for conservative Democrats as well.

While I disagree with a few of his policies, I will have to give the nod to Bush. For all his faux populistic campaign rhetoric, I'm certain Kerry will turn out ( if elected ) to be every bit the corporate handmaiden Bush is ( and Clinton was ). Ergo, my vote for Bush.

Question to our US friends:
do you know and do you have any experience of what LEFT is ?

US citizens have (been given) basically two choices, one man from the right/extreme right and one man from the center/center right.

I agree that being governed by anything left from the center would put your country in jeopardy (of loosing its global dominance).
But is there such thing ?

Has any of you ever thought of voting for whom is best suited to govern your country at a specific period in time ? (instead of being fed with GOP or DEM milk since day 1)

If Kerry is an idiot (intellectually), how would you qualify Bush ?

ps: what has Michael Moore to do with presidential elections ?

That is strictly a matter of your own opinion, and by extension an attempt to steer the debate toward your thinking by skewing the premise.

Ever notice how you never hear in the media of the extreme left? How it's always the FAR right and the left/center? How convenient.

Bushcheney2004,

For some who just joined today, you certainly jumped right into things, didn't you!

Listed below are the most 'popular' members of this website based upon the 'respect rating' (in descending order).

Just do a search for each one of these people's posts (especially regarding anything political), and see if you can identify the conservatives from the liberals. I think you'll discover that your very first statement in this thread is incorrect.

If you joined to find fellow liberal-haters, you'll have no problem whatsoever.

Kerry from the center/center right? Bull, Kerry is just as much of a lefty as Bush is a righty.

I'm suggesting deletion of this thread, it's only going to turn into a hardcore war.

NKP S2 I assume you are a psy by formation but you have never practiced.

The question was: is there anything in US politics that is really LEFT or even left of the center, according to common/global understanding of what left/centrist/right is ? the sentence ends with a question mark.

I will confess to you...I am raising the question because everything I read from US friends is glued to a duopoly, said to be left-right.
In the same vein, it looks as if some are "right" and some are "left" right from the craddle, the personnality (and visibility) of the man on top seems to be more important than the party's program or the kind of administration he would bring with him.
Thereby, my questions are an attempt to learn something about citizens' politic "behaviour" in the country which economically dominates our planet, and thereon to start forging myself an opinion.

[/piss off liberal mode]

Bushcheney2004,

Be warned. The liberals on this site are extremely viscious. Be prepared to be called "nazi" "bigot" etc. If you don't want the site's members (including the Republicans) to chew you up and spit you out, back up ALL your opinions with logic, or facts, or a link, etc. You are then far more likely to be backed up by the other Republicans in any given thread. Please keep down the personal insults. With the general exception of Dc10guy, if you don't personally attack the liberals, they won't attack you. Also, please please please keep politics in this forum. Outside of this forum we all ignore the political opinions and discuss whatever that forum is designed to discuss. We do not need politics there.

Well I think that shows that he listens to people and is open minded and not biased. That is why he may change his policies, and I don't think he was wrong I changing his support for the war. He believed like everyone else that there was an immediate threat of WMD, which we now know is not the case.
