Yes, my previous firm had a dress code forbidding, among other things:
-pink shirts (of any colour, pattern, or fabric)
-brown suits (ditto for really anything but navy blue and/or grey).
-jewelry except watch and wedding ring and class ring (I forgot to take out my earring one day and thought four secretaries were going to tackle me!)
-club, school, or fraternal ties
-there was whole section on shoes, matching socks, belts, briefcases, etc...
It was crazy.
..if you wanted the car allowance, you had to have a 'premium four-door' with acceptable rear space for clients with seperate trunk. Premium was not defined...nor was acceptable.
