Thu Aug 26, 2004 11:40 pm

The draw us out the first phase of the champions league and us football fans are going to be treated to a couple of blockbuster games.

Group A
Deportivo La Coruna
Liverpool
AS Monaco
Olympiakos

Group B
Real Madrid
AS Roma
Bayer Leverkusen
Dynamo Kiev

Group C
Bayern Munich
Juventus
Ajax Amsterdam
Maccabi Tel-Aviv

Group D
Manchester United
Olympique Lyonnais
Sparta Prague
Fenerbahce

Group E
Arsenal
Panathinaikos
PSV Eindhoven
Rosenborg

Group F
Barcelona
AC Milan
Celtic
Shakhtar Donetsk

Group G
Valencia
Inter Milan
Anderlecht
Werder Bremen

Group H
Porto
Chelsea
Paris Saint Germain
CSKA Moscow

First impressions are that Group A is going be closely fought and Group F, G and C are also ones to watch.

For us Gooner fans, we got a good group with the visit to Greece being the only worry, hopefully we can come come through this. Our neighbours Chelsea should get through with Mourniho set to visit his old club Porto. Man Utd got the easiest group and Liverpool are facing a uphill task. Can't wait for the games to begin!

Zizou,

If I were you I wouldn't underestimate Rosenborg. They are the absolute topclub in Scandinavia. And they have alot of CL experience. They have played CL for almost every year since that tournament started. Big grin

Wow, Manchester United have such an easy group. I can see Arsenal getting through with no worries. Well technically anyway, Arsenal have a habit of sucking in the Champions League Big grin. Liverpool will go out hopefully, that'll teach them for selling Michael Owen to Real Madrid. Its hard to tell which will be the most faught out group because there are so many weaker teams on paper who may put up more of a fight than previously thought of them.
