Family:
Rusty (I'm named after my father, so instead of Junior, they've always called me Rusty, from my middle name Russell.)

Work:
Brownie (Pretty much been called this one ever since I started working at my current job, as I was one of two guys with a similar first name. Even my mailbox at work has the nickname on it.)

Friends:
Picnic (This one was a work one that eventually transferred into a friends one when I changed jobs. I picked up this nickname about 5 years ago while out one night with some coworkers @ AirTran. I was wearing a red, white, and yellow checked Ben Sherman shirt, and one of the guys started making jokes about the shirt [Stuff like where's the fried chicken and potato salad?]. The next day @ work was when several of the guys started calling me Picnic. After a few days I resigned myself to the fact that I was stuck with the nickname. In my circle of friends from work, three of us shared the same name [two Steves and one Steven {me}], and one we called by his fist name, the other by his last name, and me, Picnic. To this day, whenever I see one of my old group, I still get called Picnic. The whole Picnic thing became a sort of a legend around the AirTran ramp and gates @ ATL for a time. People knew who Picnic was, but if you said Steven Brown, they'd ask who? You know, Picnic. Oh Yeah....

Friends: Moe, Medo, Moesha, easy-E ("E" being the first letter of my last name), slutty, trollop... and those who don't like me: whore.

I don't know why I have those negative names!

Moe.

The guys at work got tired of always watching what they were saying around me (only female) so they made me a honorary boy.

Moe was also short for motor mouth. That is where the boy name came from.

I've never really had a nickname until I've come to UND. Here, everyone in the chapter calls me 'Texas' or 'Tex' because that is where I transferred from despite the fact that my family has only lived in Texas for two years and I don't have a southern accent.

My nickname at work is Monkey - so called after the ITV Digital Monkey who I apparently look like.

Is also used in conjuction with Northern - so Northern Monkey as I'm from 'Up Norff' too.

Also Northern Bastard gets used from time to time depending on the context of the conversation.

Never had a real nick name, but back as a teenager some friends called me J.R., based on my first initials and connected to this "Dallas" TV series character.
Later during my final years in high school and early college,I had a nick name "Trotzki", probably since I was wearing a beard and glasses, and my political affiliation back then... (though I was always more anarchist).

In highschool my nickname was flip...because I did gymnastics and loved to do flips off the end of the beam or on the trampoline.....I also got called pickle...because I could fit the largest dill pickle in my mouth!! As far as vaporlock or pumpkin.......well they are just a couple that I've acquired as an adult!! Big grin

Pringles...

....couple days after X-mas a couple years back, I had a flying lesson. I didnt feel well that day but I thought I'd be fine if I had something to eat, so I ate an entire can of Pringles that my instructor didnt want.

We flew out of MYF, headed towards CRQ with my two uncles in the back two seats. (We were in a C172). My instructor asked why I hadn't called CRQ tower and I replied:

"I dont feel good"

She said: "open the window"

...as soon as I did that, back came the Pringles, and let me tell you, you have not barfed until you have out the window of a Cessna at 120mph. It gets better. I was in the front left seat, so the slip stream took it out and away from me, and right back onto my uncle in the left rear seat.

We flew home and got cleaned up but since then, I am Pringles.

I've got 2...one is "Jum". My first name is "Jim", but..one year at work the
group I managed received an award for a project we worked on..each of us
got a plaque with our pictures/names on them Whoever did the engraving
couldn't read, and spelled several first names incorrectly, including mine.."Jum
Henderson". My manager started calling me "Jum" after that and it's kinda
stuck.

2nd is "Muppetman" My last name (as mentioned above) is "henderson". For
a while it seemed that whenever I passed in a check at a retail establishment
the person taking the check would look at it and say "Oh..like the guy who
did the Muppets, eh?" bunch of friends, hearing the story, started calling
me "Muppetman".

Most recently, at last job, I was known as "J5", or "Johnny 5"..
From the movie Short Circuit...the robot who asked for "INPUT"...
My boss came up with it...I liked it better than other one that could have had sexual conotations...so I ended up signing forms/memos as "J5"....

In high school, it was John-John...after the Kennedy kid...since I was from Cape Cod and went to school in Florida...

"Juice" - Sounds vaguely disgusting. Was given to me in school at the age of about 7 and lasted throughout my school years. At least no one knows it now. Oops  Big grin

"Babycakes" - Just received this one from my work colleagues. Was a No. 1 song here in the UK and I kept singing it. Unfortunately, I have been told that in the US, this means "butt cheeks." Charming.

"Nigel" - reasons that I cannot go into.....

I have been called "babe" too - unfortunately not a compliment. The person was likening me to a film star of the same name. B*stard. This one will not die unfortunately.

I get called Trentles, or Trenty, or Trenticles.

I don't mind the first, but the others - *yawn*

I'm also the "Show Pony" to some people, both as a reference to Dad training race horses for a living and because I like to dance front and centre on podiums  Smile

My Dad refers to me as "Banger" sometimes, and I still don't know why... and I remember for one period my mother referred to me as a "Gummy Shark" because I was losing my teeth... so I was maybe 9 or something.

Trent.

Bottle boy or beer bottle for 2 reasons:
1-I had an incident which involved me not abling myself to hold my bladder on a bus a few years back, so I had to pee into a bottle (I filled it, the whole 2 litres).
2-people know me for being empty from the neck upwards, just like a beer bottle.

My main nickname has been "Hammster" since high school. This developed from the dwindling popularity of Hulk "the hulkster" Hogan in the late 80's and my last name is Hamm (rhymes with "spam" not "bomb" like the Olympic Gold Medalist Paul Hamm).

Recently I have aquired the nickname "Jasquatch" by one of my supervisors. Being 6'6" and 320 helped start that.
