All I know is that I would have to hate to clean any weapon, let alone an SA-80 after that!

Looks even more hilarious than the landing of US Marines in Mogadishu, Somalia and that was quite ridiculous too in fact. Big grin

Oh my God....please tell me that was either a practical joke or just some guys with too much time on their hands. WHere was that? It reminded me of slogging thru the mud on an obstacle course, but the quicksand makes it just perfect. If it was an actual demonstration or exercise, it was hilarious, if it was a practical joke it was classic.. I ached just watching it.

sabenapilot....WTF Over? Where you there when the Marines came ashore, because I fail to see the similarity. That was a humanitarian mission with world backing, are you looking to turn a funny thread into a pissing match?

Are you sure that wasn't the Coast Guard? The water didn't look too deep...

They aren't marines. They're army.

The original backstory was that they wanted to see if they could do an amphibious operation, but didn't consult anybody on how it's done. Thus, they literally fell flat on their arses.

The Royal Marines, of course, loved it.
It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, and I am not a big man.

That was the Royal Brown Water Navy. THey specialize in shallow water operations and are equipped with specially designed self-inflating water wings to keep the from drowning in quicksand.
