I think PC
's dominance on 90% of computers speaks for itself. I've had one mac and two PCs (both Dell) and I really can't see what the big deal is with the mac. Sure the mac I owned wasn't as flashy as the ones today, but my mind thinks in the Windows world, and I work very efficently with it. Whatever suits you works... I just like a multi-button mouse
But ultimately, the Mac is better in every respect: OSX is absolutely brilliant, every single piece of software works better than I have ever seen on PC.
Just wondering... have you ever used XP
Pro for an extended period of time, because I've never personally had a crash using it.
Its a great thing1) No viruses 2) No spyware
This is a great selling point, as the fact that Windows is so prevelant makes it a huge target. But, majority of Mac users (maybe a sterotype) know a shitload more about computers than the typical dumbass windows opperator.
I am amazed
when I'm asked to fix people's computers that many with broadband connections have no firewall, no spyware eliminators, no anti-virus software, and are running IE
and Outlook Express. Just switching to Mozilla, a safer mail app, and installing a quality firewall elimates maybe 99% of security issues.
If you're an actual power user, there's no comparison.
Problem is... few consumers are
Sort of off topic, but I'd like to see Apple build a PDA. My Dell X3i Pocket PC
with WiFI 802.11b, Windows Media Player, Note Taker with integrated microphone, full calendar/to-do list/contacts list application, Pocket Office, and a few other games.... is my closest companion. I flipin love the thing. But there are some areas it could be improved. Great battery life too
I am constantly running up against my storage capacity even with a 256mb SD
card expansion. That 40 gig mini-hard drive in the Ipod would sure be nice in this device. And interface would greatly benefit from a stronger "one-hand" design that doesn't require a pen or finger for every single function.
The X3i is already rather stylish, silver metal with a 3" color screen, but I'd like some under the hood improvements....
