Hotmail Sucks!

Fri Sep 03, 2004 11:57 am

Took me 30 minutes to attach a file and another 15 minutes to send an e-mail. And I am using ULTRA-LINE not 56K.

I have NO IDEA why they limit the number of e-mails you are allowed to send per day. YAHOO doesn't.

Also Yahoo offers a LOT more space.

The worst thing is...... Hotmail offers NO PRIVACY. They even show other people's IP and stuffs. Its good to trace senders but it is also good for hackers! And you can't hide your IP address.

Also LOTS of junk mails

Sucks! It wasn't that bad a few years ago.......

A pity that everyone knows my hotmail address and they been sending e-mails to my hotmail account and I can't really change it.

I have NO IDEA why they limit the number of e-mails you are allowed to send per day. YAHOO doesn't.

Part of it was an attempt to end hotmail drone accounts that were spamming people like crazy. I've never hit a limit on daily emails, and I use mine quite liberally, how many were you sending a day?

Took me 30 minutes to attach a file and another 15 minutes to send an e-mail. And I am using ULTRA-LINE not 56K.

If Ultra-Line is anything like the premium 56K services here, it uses rapid caching to increase webpage download... attachement uploads would be just as slow as any other 56k line (as I understand it)

Also Yahoo offers a LOT more space.

And G-mail likewise blows yahoo away... one gig baby!!

United Airline: I agree buddy. Hotmail is really horrible. I don't even know how people use that service.

Get GMail because it is fast, ran by Google, contains no bloat, and gives you 1GB of storage.

Yeah I can bitch about Hotmail all day long too.

One of which is that... they only give you like a month to continue accessing your email otherwise... poof! They're gone!

I prefer Yahoo.

I send quite a number of e-mails each day. When I reach my upper limit, I use my yahoo account.

SO SILLY to limit the number of e-mails and show your IP to other people. SO MEAN!

I enjoy hotmail.com
SO SILLY to limit the number of e-mails If you got heaps of spammed then would you still be saying "SO SILLY to limit the number of e-mails?"

The only reason why it takes a long time to attach an e-mail is because of the size of the attachment and/or weither heaps of people are also logged onto hotmail.com at the same time as you.

I have both, a hotmail and a Yahoo account. Since my hotmail account got full of spam, I only use it for "untrustworthy" contacts, e.g. e-business, where I´m not sure if the company will sell my email adress to spammers.
Trusted people get my yahoo email adress, where I´m quite satisfied with their antispam policies.

I am quite happy with my hotmail, certainly not unhappy enough to leave. Plus it works well(ish) with Outlook, so prety convenient.

Hmm, I have 2000MB of space on my Hotmail. How did that happen?

Hotmail used to be great before Microsoft bought them out years ago. Think the guy/company who sold it got somewhere around $40+ million? Before the buyout you used to be able to read your POP3 mail account (local internet provider) from Hotmail.com.

As I mentioned earlier, I been using hotmail for a long time and most of my friends have my hotmail address only. Also some outsiders including those I lost their contacts. So I still have to use my hotmail account.

I registered it in 1999 and AT THAT TIME, hotmail was quite good. At least not as bad as it is NOW.

Now I use my yahoo account more often but still I use my hotmail. So both.

Just because its free doesn't mean that they have to be so mean..... Yahoo is a lot better!

Agreed. However, Hotmail will soon offer 250MB for free (to N.American members anyways).

To me, it's too little, farrrrrrrr too late. Already made the switch to Gmail.

The only reason why I use hotmail is for ease of use, and of course MSN. If there is an email account that goes with it, I might as well use it.
