For God's Sake Don't Drink And Drive

Sat Sep 04, 2004 12:50 pm

If you want to wrap ypur own car around a tree and risk killing yourself or spend time in jail, fine.

But what about all of the innocent people you put at risk?

It's not fair.

It's not right.

Look what happened to this innocent, once very pretty girl.

You or a loved one could be next.

Next time you get into conformity whore mode, or think you are "capable of holding your booze" (when more likely you are nothing but young, dumb, and full of cum), just keep these pictures in mind.

I think this would be a fate worse than death.

Agreed.

Drunk driving is the most selfish and misanthropic act a human can commit...

...please dont ever do it.

I'm drunk right now, and there aint any way in hell I'm getting behind the wheel of a car. Drunk driving is just wrong. I wouldn't even drive if I only had 1 drink. I agree it is the most selfish act on the planet, especially for those that do it often. Its despicable.

Driving is fun. Drinking can also sometimes be fun. But drinking and driving is not fun, it's simply stupid.

And for some people, don't drive AND drink.

I saw an idiot in his car at the grocery store parking lot today taking a swig out of a can of Bud.

Dumbass!

"And for some people, don't drive AND drink."

No disagreement out of me, but why do some states allow liquor stores to have drive through windows? I know Tennessee and Florida does?!?! Stupid. And some states allow convenience stores to sell beer and alcohol 24/7! Now, I am no Teetotaller by any stretch, but come on, who buys beer at 0430?

A message that we seem to need to be reminded of too many times.

Actually Tiger119, I personally don't think that it matters where the booze is sold, because if you put hours on it the drunks are just going to buy in bulk.

A lot of people complain about single beer sales in stores, the idea being is that is what the drunk drivers are buying....one more for the road.

I don't buy into that idea....In fact I can't remember the last time I bought more then 3 beers in a store.

Of course I am drinking that good German imported stuff that costs about 3-4 bucks a bottle  Laugh out loud

Correction, I have bought those 4 packs of guiness before.

- I would like to see the numbers of drunk driving arrests in states and then the alcohol sales laws in those states (of course some states the sales law vary county to county, IE:Kentucky). That could help my contention or blow my thought out of the water!

A relative of mine who moved to Switzerland told me that over there if a driver is caught drunk driving they lose their license. Not only that, but any passengers also on the car lose their licenses.

I'm not sure if that's true, but if it is it certainly seems like a good idea.

It all comes to personal responsibility. It doesn't matter if i give you a free beer before you get into your car, you should not drink it. I, as a consumer, should be allowed to purchase alcohol, or what ever I want, whenever I want or whenever it is available (as long as its legal). It is up to me, as a responsible citizen, to use the product safely. That means not driving while intoxicated. It also means not drinking the damn thing while driving even if it does not intoxicate me, because it is against the law.

Isn't that the same over here as well? You certainly get a ban for a couple of years.

Drinking and driving is wrong - no doubt about it. It's not only wrong but highly illegal. If I'd had so much as a sip of alcohol I won't drive - it's just not worth the risk. The risk of losing your license is secondary - it's not worth the risk of people's lives!

I did infact see the poor girl on an advertisement on Tarrant on TV (they were being serious for once), and she was desrcibing what happened to her, and then she revealed what she looks like now. It is so shocking.

Like ConcordeBoy said, drink driving is selfish. Anybody whon has the immaturity to drink and drive shouldn't be on the roads full stop!

I cannot even begin to fathom or comprehend the pain this woman endured, both during the accident when she was literally burned alive and so horribly and gruesomely transformed and now the mental torment and anguish she must feel whenever she looks in the mirror. I will definitely add her to my daily list of people I pray for.

...and I thought I was having a bad day when one of my trucks broke down and another driver was a no-show.

That's not even a drop in the bucket compared to her.

IMO the fact that people are drinking at all is whats worrying me, people think its "ok" to work non-stop 5 days a week, and spend 1 day getting completely legless, and the other "getting over it."
This isnt just anyone anymore, its everyone, sure the majority are teenagers and young adults, but is that really a way to live, personally I dont try to drink any alcohol, because.. 1 I dont like it anyway, and 2 its something that once I start, I wont be able to control.
I mean that girls going to see herself like that for the rest of her life all because of someone elses stupidity and thougthlessness.
Its not the fall that kills u, its the sudden stop at the end..

One of the biggest problems is driving the morning after. People feel that they have slept it off, but in reality they could still be over the limit depending on how much they drunk and the amount of sleep they had.

I've done it before in the past and I'm sure most people that are old enough to drive and drink will have also driven the morning after too when really they shouldn't.
